You'll need a new base plate, I'm sorry to say. There's not an adapter available that would allow your Demco base plates to work with the Alpha tow bar. I'd recommend the Blue Ox # BX3335 base plates.
If you don't already have a wiring option, I'd also recommend the Roadmaster # RM-155, which involves installing a separate bulb in the taillight assembly of the Vue.

For short distance very light towing in moderate temperatures you probably do not have to install a cooler for your transmission. That said, additional cooling of your transmission fluid over and above what is provided by the OEM cooler is never a bad idea.
