  • Troubleshooting Furrion Fireplace With 88 Error Code
  • For a Furrion Fireplace like the # FF30SC15ABL the 88 error code is caused by inadequate airflow or overheating. Check the inlets and outlets of the fireplace to make sure they are clean and nothing is blocking them. Removing the cover and then the mounting screws will allow you to pull the unit out and access the power cord. Once you unplug it let it sit for 15-20 minutes to reset. If you're using this in temperatures below 40 it will also cause it to overheat since it will run continuously.

  • Smart Jack Won't Go Up or Down
  • I'm sorry the folks at the establishment you purchased the Lippert Smart Jack # LC643589 from were unable to help you. I'm not sure what they told you to do, but what the manufacturer has told us regarding this jack is if it is not operating up or down is to first check the grounded 12 volt power supply it is wired to. That is basically the issue 99% of the time when this occurs. Should that not remedy the problem, remove the fuse in the power wire for 15 minutes which will reset it.

  • Does Curt Echo Brake Controller Require Headlights to be On and is iPhone App Still Buggy
  • Hey Russ, the Curt Echo # C51180 will work regardless of if the headlights of the vehicle are off or on. You might be thinking of RV cameras that require the running light circuit of the tow vehicle to be on to be active but the Echo does not look at that circuit at all basically. I found the review where someone was having issues with the Lippert One Control App which was dated February of 2024. I looked up the app revisions of the One Control for iPhone and it's been updated twice since...

  • Why Would New RV Steps Operate Backwards when Door is Open and Closed
  • The problem is you do have the wrong switch for your door sensor. Whenever we hear that the steps are working in reverse that usually means you have the incorrect door switch, normally closed vs normally open or it is installed wrong. For a normally closed door switch we have the Lippert Components Kwikee Round Magnetic Door Switch part # LC379400 and for a normally open door switch we have the Lippert Components Kwikee Pleated Plunger Door Switch part # LC379407. My guess is that maybe...

  • Troubleshooting Voltage Drop to Second Trailer's Brake Assemblies
  • Hey Eric, with that much voltage drop the issue is that the wire length added way too much resistance. The only solution is heavier gauge wire everywhere most likely. I would think that 8 gauge wire would be pretty close if wired everywhere but you might be looking at needing 6 gauge since there's just so much wire. You also need to make sure the ground wires are of an equal gauge too.

  • What Do the SH and PL error codes Mean for a Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller
  • So, it looks like the error code SH is stating a short somewhere on the brake output circuit, and the PL code means that there is power interrupted when stepping on the brakes. This to me would indicate that there is a definitely a short in your wiring. I recommend going through your wires and look for any broken or damaged wiring. When you've found the wiring that's damaged, you'll just need to repair the wire and check again to see if the codes are still being thrown.

  • Troubleshooting OEM Brake Controller of 2021 Chevy Silverado not Working with 2021 Grand Design
  • Hey Tim, it sounds like your Grand Design may have electric over hydraulic brakes but I am not totally sure. If that's true make sure your brake controller is put in hydraulic mode. Otherwise an aftermarket brake controller that was designed to be used with EOH brakes like the part # 90885 would be a great solution.

  • Does Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Have to Mount a Certain Direction to Function
  • Hey Bob, so the Echo # C51180 is not directional so the way yours is mounted would still allow it to function like it needs to but it does sound like there's something else going on if you are seeing a electrical malfunction error code. You might try removing the controller and seeing if the error goes away to try and start troubleshooting it.

  • Troubleshooting Dexter Brake Actuator that Runs All the Time When Connected
  • Hey Bob, when just the power and ground is connected on a brake actuator like the Dexter DX part # K71-651 you won't hear the unit prime itself. It would do this once a connection to trailer brakes is made which would be the blue wire that runs to the trailer brakes. If it's running continuously I would check to make sure the breakaway switch isn't pulled or wired up wrong.

  • Troubleshooting a Curt Spectrum That Does not Go Through Calibration Sequence
  • There could be a couple of reasons why your Curt Spectrum # C51170 is not calibrating, but it's likely due to your wiring. Even though you're using a plug in adapter # C51523, there still can be an issue with your vehicle wiring. I recommend physically checking your grounds, to make sure that it's to a clean secure surface. If your grounds are good, then check the white and black wires on the main module and make sure they're not flipped; If they are flip them and check again. I also...

  • How Far do Rails Protrude on Ford Super Duty Standard/Short Bed w/ Pace Edwards Switchblade Tonneau
  • Hey David; I checked directly with Pace Edwards for you and can tell you that the rails on the Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # PE46QJ will protrude just under 3/4" on both sides when installed on your Ford Super Duty standard/short bed. Per Pace Edwards, with the # PE46QJ installed, you will have 59-1/16" between the rails of your truck, so you're not losing much space at all on the sides. This is a cover people regularly use with a 5th wheel hitch installed...

  • Is it Normal for Rhino Rack Roof Rack Accessories to Have all Same Lock Core Code
  • Since all of the keys have the same number that does mean that all of the lock cores were designed to use the same key. What probably happened was that the place you bought it from did you a solid and picked accessories that all used the same lock number for this reason. There are several different lock core codes out there though so you don't have to worry about someone else with a Rhino Rack key being able to unlock and steal what you have.

  • Troubleshooting a Trailer With Running Lights That Don't Work
  • If you've already tested the lights on another trailer and they work, then the issue has to be with your camper. Somewhere in your trailer's wiring there is an issue, so you'll need to go through it and check for damage or broken wires. I recommend starting with your trailer's connector, though. The simplest things are often overlooked, so I'd start here and look for any signs of corrosion or damage. If the contacts in the connector aren't making a good connection with the tow vehicle...

  • Troubleshooting A Furrion RV Wall Oven That Won't Stay Lit
  • If your Furrion Propane RV Built-in Wall Oven # FSRD22LASS is having problems lighting or staying lit then there are a few things that you can check. The first being that you gas bottles are full and that all valves are fully open. A manometer can be used to check the gas pressure getting to the oven to ensure that it's receiving at least 10" WC. If not, you'll need to check/replace the regulator. From there you can check the placement of the thermocouple compared to the pilot light....

  • Troubleshooting Clearance Lights That Are Receiving A Brake Signal On A 2020 Jayco 5th Wheel
  • If the front clearance lights are acting as brake lights then they are either wired incorrectly or there's a break in the wire casing for the two different sets of lights and they're touching causing the funky lighting. With the rear lights not working this really sounds like the wires for the tail light and clearance light were just mixed up somewhere in the wiring (hopefully at the junction box to make it an easy fix). To check if this is the case you'll need to put power to that specific...

  • Can Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Apply Brakes to One Side of Trailer More than Other
  • Hey Travis, so the Curt Echo # C51180 doesn't have a way to apply brakes to one side of the trailer more than the other. It can only put out one brake signal so if you have problems with one side of the trailer brakes it's not the brake controller. It's probably wiring though so I would check to make sure the brake output circuit is making it to both brake assemblies and also that the assemblies are grounded properly.
