In the instructions they only show that the air dam needs a chunk cut out and that the shutters would remain. The Demco baseplate has a bit more of a slant outwards compared the the Roadmaster # RM97RR so you shouldn't need to trim out as much of the air shutters/dam during the installation.

- AAMCO most likely disconnected it when they did work on your vehicle since most vehicles require disconnected the battery before doing so so my guess would be that they forgot to reconnect it at the battery upon completion of the work so you should check there.
