Correct Grounding Location For The Tekonsha 118683 On A Volvo XC90
Question:
For 118683 the included instructions state that the white wire off of the module should be grounded to the frame. All your Volvo XC90 videos show the white wire connected to the negative battery terminal. Which is correct? I presume the manufacturer instructions.

To answer your question Mark, both ways are correct. The vehicles frame, or the negative battery terminal are both suitable locations for a ground. It could be the installer in that particular video just preferred to do it that way since the battery was so close. The Manufacturer instructions for the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118683 do say to find a grounding point near the connector such as the frame or the crossmember. It is always a good idea to stick with what the manufacturer instructions say, but you truly can do it either way. Whatever is easier for you.
