According to my Blue Ox representative, you would indeed want those chains to be vertical. If the brackets aren't at 29 inches from the coupler so that the chains are vertical, the sway control function would be negatively affected.
Instead of the SwayPro, I'd recommend an Equal-i-zer system. The Equal-i-zer sway control/weight distribution system is less expensive and the sway control component is much more effective, in my opinion. The frame brackets can be mounted anywhere between 37-32... view full answer...

While I'm not 100 percent certain which brake controller you are referencing, though from what I can tell it is the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160.
If you'd like you can have it mounted on the floor, but you do need to make sure it is perfectly horizontal at all times, as you can see from the cut out I added of the linked instructions of this controller. That can be quite difficult to do on the floor unless it is somehow secured there so while you can do this, I... view full answer...
I spoke with one of my contacts at Tekonsha, who tells me he is unaware of any vehicle-specific problems installing a controller on a 2008 Grand Cherokee.
The only connection to the vehicle that could possibly affect the vehicle computer would be connecting the red wire on the controller to the wrong wire at the brake stoplight switch.
The controller would be mounted under the dash to the right of the steering column, within easy reach of the driver. You can find the green wire that... view full answer...
When installing the Demco base plate kit part # DM9519291 on your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee you do need to drill out the rivets like you mentioned but it comes with 4 new rivets to use when you reinstall everything.
This also works with the Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar part # RM-676 directly so it would be a great solution as this is one of the nicest tow bars out there. This comes with safety cables and the Roadmaster lighting kit part # RM-15267 would be a really great option as well.... view full answer...
Good question; so the issue with your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is that it doesn't technically have a traditional stop light switch, which is why you are having trouble getting 12 volts. The good news is the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 does not need your Jeep to have the stop light switch to connect to.
As you can see by the cut out of the linked instructions I added, the red wire only needs to be "attached to the blue wire which is between the breakaway switch... view full answer...
When we installed the breakaway switch on Jeep Grand Cherokees of the same generation as your 2015 model our installers just attached the switch directly to the bottom of the front license plate housing. I have linked a video showing this. It is a different braking system but the same switch. view full answer...

To install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55369 you linked to in your 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee without factory tow package you'll need to do the follow steps:
1. Remove the rear threshold seen in figure B/C
2. Remove the screws on the driver side trim panel and pull back the panel to gain access to the green vehicle harness (D,E,F).
3. Insert the green custom wiring connector housing into the green vehicle harness housing. Make sure... view full answer...
You are correct that there is a green wire exiting the brake controller connector under the dash of your 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The problem is that since your vehicle is not equipped with the tow package the wire is terminated somewhere inside the wiring harness and is very difficult to find.
The best route for you to take is to make sure that the Power wire and the stoplight switch wire in the connector are active. Use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993, to test the ports in the connector.... view full answer...
It will not take much longer, a few minutes most likely, maybe longer if you have to spray some penetrating oil and let it soak a while to remove the tow loop. The estimated professional installation time for trailer hitch # C13182 is 10 minutes. For a do-it-yourselfer at home I estimate about an hour from start to finish. Ultimately it depends on your ability and if you have the proper tools.
I have included a link to the installation instructions for you so you can determine if this... view full answer...
In order to protect the wiring of your leased 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have to recommend you run the power wire of the kit to your vehicle battery.
Not all vehicles can handle the additional amperage draw of the trailer taillights on the vehicle taillight circuits. Those vehicles need a setup that draws power from the battery. Some vehicles have higher rated circuits that can handle this, and others need to have the power drawn straight from the battery to protect the taillight circuits.... view full answer...
So you can add a 7-way to your 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but without the factory tow package/harness you won't be able to utilize the Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975, which is what I believe you were referring to in regards to "spring loaded doors." The 4-way # 118384 you referenced is also something that plugs directly into the factory tow package and is unable to plug into a 4-way.
With out the factory tow package, to add a 7-way, the first thing needed is the... view full answer...
Whether or not you can use weight distribution with your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee depends on its hitch. Look on the hitch for its weight rating and see if there is a second rating. If so this is for weight distribution so it is rated for it.
All of the hitches we carry for your Jeep are rated for weight distribution. If you don't already have a hitch receiver I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75699. I like how the cross tube is hidden behind the bumper and all you see is the receiver opening.... view full answer...
The E Group rails on your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee actually only offer fixed points for the Thule WingBar Evo roof rack like parts # TH711420, # TH460R, and fit Kit # THKIT3142.
Unfortunately if you have adjusted the feet of your Thule cargo box around (if that is possible) and it will not fit far enough forward enough for your rear hatch to open without making contact then you will need to either get a new box or use an alternative method.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75699 is one of the easiest trailer hitches to install on your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Manufacturers rate the difficulty of the installation for their products and Draw-Tite has this at a 3 out of 10.

I've linked to the installation instructions for the Curt # C31033, which works on 2015 Grand Cherokee models with or without the tow hooks. I can completely understand not wanting to splice in a brake controller, though there are no plug-in wiring adapters for any brake controller on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The only way to use a brake controller and not have to splice wires on your Jeep with a factory 7-way is to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180 because this just plugs into your 7-way and you set it up with an app on your smartphone. There are literally no wires whatsoever to deal... view full answer...
