Is Brake Light Switch on 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Accessible for Stay-IN-Play DUO Installation

Question:

I have a 2019 grand cherokee. The brake light switch has 3 wires going to it. I am having trouble getting 12 volts on any of them. It may have something to do with the door being open? Can you tell me which one of the wires I need to splice into. or any other hints. Thanks. I have the stay n play duo

Good question; so the issue with your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is that it doesn't technically have a traditional stop light switch, which is why you are having trouble getting 12 volts. The good news is the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 does not need your Jeep to have the stop light switch to connect to.

As you can see by the cut out of the linked instructions I added, the red wire only needs to be "attached to the blue wire which is between the breakaway switch and operating unit." I understand this may be somewhat difficult to visualize so I have added a link to a video showing this exact process on a Grand Cherokee. If you forward to about the 13 minute mark or so you can see exactly what you'll need to do.
