It sounds like you're trying to replace the battery isolator solenoid. This is what allows the starting battery on your 2018 Jayco Precept Prestige to charge the house batteries when the engine is running, but keeps the house batteries from draining the starting battery when the engine is not running.

If it's a regulator it's not super common for it to leak but it is designed to let it breath during normal operation and also it functions as a pressure relief valve if it were to be over-pressurized.
