The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 just requires the trailer lights and 12V power pin to operate properly but the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller # C27JR and Custom Wiring Adapter # C51392 require your 2020 Honda Ridgeline to have the tow package so all of the wiring exists on your 7-Way - especially the brake control pin in the 5 o'clock position (see attached).

The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # RE34FR is 49911 you referenced. It definitely doesn't sound right that there is more than 4 inches of difference from the base of the hitch ball when inverting your weight distribution shank with closest settings. I would definitely check that the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 is installed so that the tab on top of the Echo is engaging the tab on the 7-way connector per the included example. If you have installed this and found that there is 12V power going into the converter box but nothing is coming out of it then this does tend to suggest it is internally damaged.

In order to remove the cap to install the # 118778 you need to remove the dark blue fastener from the housing by sliding it rearward. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the locking tabs but they are on the side of the connector. Pressing down on these tabs will allow you to remove the protective cap on the tow plug.

If you have the factory tow package or just installed the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118288 on your 2021 Honda Ridgeline you will need to check the charge line fuse. According to page 564 of your owners manual I see there is a 20 amp fuse in engine compartment B fuse panel at location 11. If this fuse is damaged or missing that will explain why you do not have any power.

You have done all of the correct testing and it does indicate that the converter in harness # 118400 has gone bad and needs to be replaced. There could be any number of reasons for a converter to go bad. It could be a short on the trailer that blew the box, protecting the vehicle wiring like it was designed.

Since you have a cover it's going to be a bit harder to gain access and open the tailgate. You can try to see if you can get your hand under the cover since there should be a bulb seal at the tailgate that you could probably get your hand in through and unlatch the cover to get access to the inside of the tailgate. You could also try removing the trim panel around the tailgate handle and seeing if there's enough access with it removed to get your fingers in there an actuate the lock yourself.... view full answer...
If you have no power to the taillight pin with the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118288 then the issue is almost certainly that you have a blown fuse on your 2019 Honda Ridgeline.
What you will need to do is check you owner's manual to find the fuse and replace it, which should remedy the issue. The only other thing that might be happening is a wire leading to that pin is somehow damaged, so that would be the other thing to look for.

I spoke with my contact at Pop&Lock, who tells me that the most frequently encountered cause for the problem you're experiencing is a binding actuator spring. On the actuator itself, there's a rubber boot. If you slide the boot away from the actuator, you'll be able to see the spring. be sure that spring is moving freely back and forth. You might need to rotate the spring a bit by hand to free it up.

If you aren't getting running/tail lights on the T-One # 118778 installed on your 2019 Honda Ridgeline then I recommend checking the following:
First, make sure that you turn the headlights on for your Ridgeline prior to testing (this has been forgotten by other people so I felt it necessary to mention).
Also check the vehicle side connectors to make sure that nothing is damaged or bent.

I am sorry you have had issues with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM43125 you have installed on your 2013 Honda Ridgeline.
To make sure the harness stays in good working order for multiple years I recommend double checking that you are routing the harness in a way that it is not too close to the muffler that could cause the wiring to be damaged and cause the module to go bad.

To me it sounds like there was a short on your trailer which caused the Tow Ready Wiring Harness # 118400 that you referenced to short out as well. Bizarre trailer light behavior is usually caused by a shorted out converter box or bad tail light grounds. I would check the condition of the grounds of the tail lights first. Some assemblies ground through the mounting hardware, if that is what you have then you should check to make sure the assemblies are attached to a clean, metal surface.

When you installed the eye bolt for the EZ Gate Tailgate Lift Assist for Open Landscape Trailers # 3375201000 on the gate did you measure 8" from the top down or 8" from the top of the rail up to that point on the gate/ramp? From the photo you sent in I don't see how your gate is 3' tall and that eye bolt is 8" down from the top of the ramp so that's what I'd to to start off.

The best first step is to isolate the problem to either the tow vehicle wiring or the trailer.
Disconnect the boat trailer's 4-pole. Use your vehicle battery (or a spare battery) to directly test the trailer lighting on its own by connecting the 4-pole ground pin to the battery negative terminal and one by one connecting the battery hot terminal to each of the other pins on the trailer's 4-pole. The first place that I recommend starting is the battery inside your 2007 Honda Ridgeline. You will need to test the battery voltage with a Multimeter # PT89ZR. Be sure to test the battery in the same condition that you tested the lighting circuits on the trailer connector. Depending on the age and condition of the battery it will typically drop voltage as power is pulled from it. The wiring can also cause a voltage drop depending on the condition of the wiring.
