How To Gain Access To A Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock When You Have A Tonneau Cover In The Way
Question:
My 2018 Ridgeline tail gate pop a lock failed locked and I have a bed cover. I get signal back there so I assume the actuator failed. How can I get the gate open so I can get into it? Do I have to cut my bed cover? Can I take it apart with it locked?

Since you have a cover it's going to be a bit harder to gain access and open the tailgate. You can try to see if you can get your hand under the cover since there should be a bulb seal at the tailgate that you could probably get your hand in through and unlatch the cover to get access to the inside of the tailgate. You could also try removing the trim panel around the tailgate handle and seeing if there's enough access with it removed to get your fingers in there an actuate the lock yourself.
Since the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8600 uses bullet connectors there's a good chance that they became loose or disconnected and that's why the lock isn't receiving power.
