- The reason is pretty simple. The Blue Ox # BX88132 is specifically designed for flat towing and has been rigorously tested for that purpose. The Patriot Hitch # PH54FR adjustable drop receiver adapter has NOT been tested for flat towing a vehicle, therefore Patriot Hitch can't recommend using the product for that purpose as they don't know how their product would preform in that application.
