  • How to Increase Cab Clearance When Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2004 GMC Sierra 6-1/2 Bed
  • In order to choose a replacement pin box for your '89 Featherlite Holiday Rambler you can either look for a pin box number on your current pin box (like 1621 or 0719 for example) but if you can't locate a number the next best thing to do is take measurements of your pin box. If you can measure the width, distance from the center of the king pin to the first set of installed bolts, and then the distance between bolt holes horizontally and vertically I can use the table from the linked helpful...

  • Trailer Brakes Locking Up When In Reverse
  • Since your trailer brakes are locking up when you're in reverse that means that you have a short that is between the brake output circuit and the reverse light circuit. You can use The Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to help find the short. You will need to check your brake wiring for any frayed, exposed or damaged wire, and repair and replace as needed. I attached a review video link below.

  • Do I Need to Replace the Bearings When I Replace My Brakes
  • Wheel bearings are going to be hub and spindle specific and aren't going to effect which brakes you'll want to use. It sounds like you might have a 7k axle with 12" brakes on your trailer, so you can use the # AKEBRK-7R-SA (right) and # AKEBRK-7L-SA (left) which are a self adjusting brake assemblies and a great choice. These are sold as single assemblies and are side specific, so you'll need to order the brake for each side, or the complete set is available with part # AKEBRK-7-SA. You...

  • How to Select Replacement Cushioned Pin Box for Grand Design Momentum M349 5th Wheel Trailer
  • I checked the Grand Design website for details on the pin box installed on your Momentum M349 but they do not include that detail in their specs. Usually you'll find the pin box part number on the box's driver's side sticker. This is needed to select an appropriate replacement cushioned pin box that will bolt right up in place of the OEM model. You can use the linked page to select that OEM part to then see the compatible cushioned pin boxes, and cushioned pin boxes that also include a...

  • What Part is the Black TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack for My 2021 GMC Sierra 1500?
  • I have a solution for you. The matte black version of the TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack is # TH27000XTB. However, if you have a tri-fold tonneau cover on your 2009 GMC Sierra 1500, you will not be able to use the Thule TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack while the cover is in use. The reason for that is because the TracONE uses clamps that install right into the truck's bed rails (where the tonneau cover is installed). The best alternative for a folding tonneau is the Adarac Pro Series...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for 1999 GMC Sierra 1500
  • Since you don't already have a factory connector on your 1999 GMC Sierra a 4-way trailer connector will need to be hardwired in. I suggest using the # C59496. It includes all the wiring and connectors you'll need. It also includes a circuit tester so you can find the correct wires to connect the harness to. The wiring on your truck will need to be probed to find the correct functions to connect into.

  • Spacers Needed for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 on Lifted 2006 GMC Sierra HD 2500
  • In order to use the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57275 with a lifted truck, you will need to use spacers that match the amount of height gained in the rear after installing your lift. For example, if your rear end raised 4" after the lift, you would need 4" spacers like the # AL52440 . You'll want to use the 2" spacers # AL52420 for 2" of lift. If you have a different amount of gain from the lift on your 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD let me know and I can recommend a different spacer.

  • Replacement Mirror for 2005 GMC Sierra with LED Turn Signal on Mirror
  • I may have a solution for you, but a mirror with those particular features is not available. However the plug will be the same for any mirrors that has the electrical plug for certain features already installed, so you could use something like the K-Source # KS62134G which will have the LED blinker feature. If your current mirrors have the LED turn signal but not the other features this will still work, but you won't gain any added functionality. I've linked our entire selection of mirrors...

  • Recommended Hitch and Weight Distribution System for a 2005 GMC Sierra
  • I would be happy to help you set your 2005 GMC Sierra up to tow your trailer. With that low of a towing capacity I can safely assume you have a 1500. That is what my recommendations are going to be based on. Along with a weight distribution system you're going to need a hitch and a brake controller as well. That heavy of a trailer will require brakes. For your hitch you will want the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e98849. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It is custom...

  • Availability of Auto Leveling Scissor Jack for a 2017 Keystone Passport Elite
  • We do not currently offer any automatic leveling systems for you to use on your 2017 Keystone Passport Elite, however we do have another option. The Ultra-Fab Power Twin II # UF39-941705 is an electric stabilizer that uses dual motors for easier leveling than doing it by hand. It has a fairly universal design since it can fit on trailers and RVs that have frames which range from 48-80 inches wide. Another great feature is the extra-large footplates that are on the stabilizer. The stabilizer...

  • Replacement Parts for Gooseneck Hitch in 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD
  • If the gooseneck hitch on the used truck you bought is intact and functional, then there are several options for adapters that will allow this truck/hitch to pull a 5th wheel trailer. These adapters differ in cost, how they install and in how much additional stress they will impart to the trailer's frame. This is something to consider since some trailer frame warranties will be voided if an adapter is used. Check with the maker of your trailer, using its VIN, to find out their take on use...

  • Taillight Converter Needed To Separate Brake Lamp and Turn Signal Circuits
  • The Curt # C56196 2 to 3 wire taillight converter is exactly what you'll need to split out the turn signal function from the brake lamp circuit. However, keep in mind that the # C56196 is NOT compatible with LED lamps, unfortunately we don't offer a taillight converter at this time that is compatible with LED lamps. You would wire the converter inline with the right and left turn and brake circuits. You will want to install the converter some place where it's protected from the elements....

  • 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 Short Bed Hitch Recommendation for Towing a Gooseneck Horse Trailer
  • In order to use the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 16055 on your 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 short bed you'll also need to install the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16418-204. This is a great option if you plan on towing both 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers (or if you want to at least keep your options open). If you only plan on towing that gooseneck trailer though then I recommend going with the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60712 instead....

If you need to add safety cables you can use # BX88197. For a lighting solution you can use the 6-diode kit # 154-792-118158. • 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness for 2002 GMC Sierra
  • If your 2002 GMC Sierra does not have a round U.S. Car connector to accept a 4-pole trailer wiring harness like # 118384 then it should have a bundle of wires tucked up above the spare tire (see the linked article, step 3, section B). The yellow wire is the left turn and brakes, dark green wire is the right turn and brakes, brown wire is for the taillights, and white is the ground. To these you can attach a 4-pole plug like # 18252, connect the wires color for color with heat shrink butt...
