I do have a solution for you, but it will require you to consider a different hitch bike rack. Anytime you add an adapter to your setup, you reduce the maximum tongue weight of that system by 50%. A swing-away hitch attachment is considered an adapter. I went ahead and called my tech at Rhino-Rack, and she confirmed that the reason why there are two different heights of legs that come with the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack # RLZ01-DC is because of the curvature of the roof.
