The panels in question on the 2015 Ford Edge will either need to be removed or trimmed for the hitch installation. I would just remove them and store them in case you ever wanted to remove the hitch so that you could put the panels back on if you wanted. Neither removing them nor trimming them should void the warranty of the vehicle because you are protected by the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. Trimming or removal of the panels is required for any of the available hitches for your Edge.

We get this question a lot and while you can technically install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C89FR in whichever manner you want, if you connect the power wire to that 12V plug on your 2019 Ford Edge as opposed to the battery you run the risk of overloading that circuit and voiding your warranty. Generally speaking, it is recommend that you remove the spring bars from a weight distribution system such as the Curt Trunnion Style Weight Distribution System part # 17300 while in reverse. This is due to the fact the the spring bars will not have enough room to pivot in the head while turning in reverse.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13234 should still allow you to activate the hands-free liftgate as it has been tested. In the attached video of this trailer hitch on a 2015 Ford Edge you can see our installer activating the liftgate by passing his foot under the trailer hitch but typically what we see is that you have to use a kicking motion as if you are kicking a ball.

According to Kat's the location of the plug hole that is easiest to install for Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11815 is the Right Front, or RF.

The stud in question on the 2016 Ford Edge interferes with trailer hitch # 75234 so it has to be removed in order for the hitch to fit properly. You won't necessarily have to use a die grinder. It is possible that bolt cutters, rotary tool with cutting wheel, files, or other tools could work just as well. You also might be able to borrow the appropriate tool from an auto parts store that has a tool loan program.

It's hard to say exactly what the wire you found in the back of your 2011 Ford Edge was used for. It could have been for a stereo. But since the Curt Wiring harness # C56120 that you referenced requires you to run the battery wire all the way to the positive battery post you would need to run that wire to the battery instead of the fuse box if you plan to use it for this install.

I checked out the owner's manual for your 2018 Ford Edge and it looks like you can flat tow most variations of the Edge but if you have the 2.0L EcoBoost with an automatic transmission (6F35) then you need to tow it using a dolly or with all 4 wheels off the ground.

The Rhino-Rack Vortex crossbars that are designed to fit your 2019 Ford Edge are the 54" Crossbars # RRVA137B-2 (along with the 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA and Fit Kit # DK432).
