Does the Stud on a 2016 Ford Edge have to be Removed to Install a Trailer Hitch
Question:
Why do I have to grind the exhaust stud off? I dont have to tools to do that, is it an absolutely necessary step? If so, can you recommend a local installer in zip 06082?

The stud in question on the 2016 Ford Edge interferes with trailer hitch # 75234 so it has to be removed in order for the hitch to fit properly. You won't necessarily have to use a die grinder. It is possible that bolt cutters, rotary tool with cutting wheel, files, or other tools could work just as well. You also might be able to borrow the appropriate tool from an auto parts store that has a tool loan program.
If you choose to have the hitch installed any trusted mechanic or RV dealer with a service center could perform the installation.
