Installing a 4-Way to 7-Way Trailer Wiring Adapter for Single Use

Question:

Do they make just the simple plastic connector serves the same purpose? Im only using this thing once probably. I will not be hooking it up to my vehicle.

For a simple 4-way to 7-way adapter, I recommend the Tow Ready Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector # 30717. This will allow you to plug your 4-way in easily and use those functions with a 7-way plug. If you only wish to use those functions, then you can simply connect the 4-way and the white ground wire and tape up the yellow reverse, blue brake, and black power wires.

If you will be needing trailer brakes, you will still need to get a brake controller and connect the blue brake wire, so for single use, I recommend borrowing another vehicle or renting a truck with a factory integrated controller if that is the case.
