It is possible that Curt trailer hitch # C12092 will block the sensor for the hands-free liftgate on the 2015 Ford C-Max. In some cases it will just limit the coverage area of the sensor. I do have an excellent option for you but it isn't a traditional axle. I recommend going with a Timbren axle-less system such as # TASR35HDS06 which takes the place of an axle beam. It will also replace the suspension with rubber suspension parts that won't wear out or corrode.

Roadmaster has two charge line kits for this situation where the battery needs to be charged. The part # RM-156-25 which was designed for supplying the towed vehicle with wiring for charging the battery and the part # RM-156-75 which is for creating the charge line on the tow vehicle side.
