Adding a Braking Axle to a 4x8 Trailer

Question:

Looking to add brakes to a small utility trailer. I intend to swap the axle assembly to accomplish this. My spring center is 48. Do you have a axle that is 60inch up to 72inch face to face that has brake mounts and related components to add brakes? Thanks

I do have an excellent option for you but it isn't a traditional axle. I recommend going with a Timbren axle-less system such as # TASR35HDS06 which takes the place of an axle beam. It will also replace the suspension with rubber suspension parts that won't wear out or corrode.

This system and others do have brake mounting flanges. I wasn't sure which capacity you would want so the one above is rated for 3,500 pounds. Then you could use hub and drum # 8-201-9UC3-EZ and brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA.

I have also included a link to all of the Timbren systems that have brake mounting flanges.
