Firestone Ride-Rite springs are designed to increase safety and reduce the strain on your vehicle when you are hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer. The springs partner with your existing rear suspension system to help keep your truck level, maintain even load distribution and increase stability. Hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer can make the rear of your truck sag and the front end rise. This puts more strain on your rear axle and reduces contact between your front tires and the road, causing problems with braking, steering control and traction. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your truck and improve braking and handling. The air springs also help to level your headlight beams and reduce wear on your tires.
Adjustable Air Pressure
The air pressure in your Ride-Rite springs can be adjusted manually, side to side, to compensate for off-center loads. A centered load improves the stability of your truck by reducing body roll. The air springs will also help to absorb road shock and to soften contact between your axle and frame. This prevents bottoming out, thus improving ride comfort. Route the air line tubing for the springs to your truck's bumper to provide easy access to the manual inflation valves.
Air Spring Construction
Unlike standard Ride-Rite air springs, the RED Label air springs operate up to 150 psi to maximize its weight capacity. The springs have four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability and enhance load support. A braided wire girdle creates the double-convoluted shape of each air spring, increasing the burst pressure of the spring. The rubber springs are attached to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a time-proven, rolled crimp seal that keeps the bags securely anchored.
Air Spring Installation
Each RED Label kit includes vehicle-specific brackets, fasteners, and hardware for fast, no-drill installation. The hardware installs directly on your axle and frame and the air springs install onto the mounting points provided by the brackets. Additional equipment like control panels, compressors, and air tanks are sold separately.

On a 2022 Nexus Rebel 30 R, not as simple as told..I had to modify parts of tubing frame of floor support and reinforced everything...took me 10 hours, thanks to the hydraulic jacks. Very happy with the ride now ! It is more firm and and almost removed all the sway on the rear. So far we love it !!
Excellent product. Significantly improved the ride on our motorhome with the International CV (GM 6500) chassis.
When air bags were inflated the supplied brackets bent. We built heavier brackets and reinstalled. After inflation air bags functioned as intended.
Very helpful staff. Great company. Excellent customer service.
Installed on a 2023 GMC 3500 Denali CCLB. Not much experience but I an a little handy. Pre-installation - watched the etrailer video. While installing I watched the video again step by step. Make sure you watch the video into the next step of install before proceeding w/the previous step. It will make your install more clean. Product works great.., phone app & remote paired & connected perfectly. Thanks for the install video & very satisfied with the product. All wiring, tubing & misc. parts were included.
kit was all there , install was easy to install , only had minor fitment on 2 small brackets but very simple to fix , very pleased with bag kit. made a great difference on driving it , no more rough ride on bouncing on over load springs !digging it so far , thanks again, tim, midland texas
Arrived as noted and in good condition. Instructions show 2 types of install. Turks with Bounce tongue stopper, and back section without. One the F350 2023 FX4 Dually model the drivers side lower bracket hits the aluminum that the block the fixed brake line attaches too. Called Firestone and I modified the bracket cut small notch off. To the DYI installer helpful note go ahead and assemble airbag on lower bracket when using spacer and start bolt. Compress airbag and I used Zipties to hold compression til I placed on axle. If not you only have 1/2-3/4” to try and get bolt started into airbag from bottom. After aligned then tightened all my bolts and torqued. Approx airbag install and running hoses about 2-3 hrs. And manual fill lines come with a no drill bracket that can be used on rear if preferred in addition to a compressor if purchased.
It's not hard to install if you have mechanical abilities. I don't like to drill in the plastic on the interior, so I didn't want a switch or gauge hanging off the dash so the Bluetooth feature is great. I purchased some extra airline and mounted the compressor and other various parts inside my toolbox in the bed. I've done that with previous pickups I've owned. It's a little more work and materials, but I think it keeps everything cleaner and I don't have to worry about snow and dirt building up on the compressor.
Installation was relativly straight forward. Cutting the air lines straight was hard without a special tube cutter. Recently air leaks have been an ongoing problem. In the last month the pressure has gone to zero every night and the pump doesn't turn on until I open the app. Twice this month I had to unplug the pump and plug it back in to get it respond to the app. I wouldn't recommend.
Not impressed whatsoever. Powder coat peeling off right out of the box, bolts are not long enough for the washers to work and go through the nylocks correctly. Grade 5 carriage bolts with grade 8 nuts. Carriage bolts run into the brake lines unless you bend the brake lines out of the way. Bags don’t line up straight up and down no matter what you do. Brackets that attach underneath the axle bend ridiculously easy as well as the carriage bolts. For $[XX] I was expecting much more. Would not recommend whatsoever, if you want good bags, buy the air lift bags they are much nicer. Bought these to give them a try since this is where I purchased my gooseneck hitch from as well and as very disappointed. Would not recommend at all. etrailer service was great but this product is junk all around. The only nice thing in it is the rubber on the bags themselves. For $[XX] there should be no question in quality at all and the quality here is very poor.
The Ride-Rite Extreme Duty Air Springs (RED Label) worked great on my RAM 3500 DRW. I pull a 40' Montana 5th wheel. 15,000 lbs and about 4,000lbs on the truck bed. I had the NON Red Label rated at 5,000 lbs and blew one airbag on extremely bumpy Illinois Interstate. I have put about 20,000 miles on the RED label airbags rated to 7,500lbs and have been VERY happy.
P.S. I am not one of those Saggy rear end trucks that shine their headlights in your eyes thanks to the support I get from these air bags. Level ride = level lights
Had these on my 23' Chevy for less than a month and the "J" bolts supplied with the kit punctured one of the air bags and had worn a hole over half way through the other one. Called customer service who told me that I should have "cut the ends off of the bolts after installation" I'm not a professional mechanic but this is the 4th set of these I've bought & installed. The other 3 are still fine & in use. Kit doesn't work on a dually and I still haven't received my replacement bags. I'd give a zero stars if it were an option.
I've had the Firestone Ride-Rite red air springs on the rear axle of my 2023 GMC Sierra diesel dually now for a year. I believe the best compliment I can give is that I don't really think of them, when I need them they work, beautifully.
I had an on-board compressor installed as well and the combination has been fantastic. I tow a 5th wheel toy hauler and it really is nice to just air them up and enjoy a smooth ride. I did get an added benefit that I didn’t expect, my unloaded ride, with 5 or 6 lbs of air in the springs, gives me a much better ride than just the factory set up. I didn’t think that anything could smooth out the ride on a 1 ton but they did. I’ve had absolutely no leaking of air after a year, unloaded or towing around 20k lbs.
For me and my truck these have been bullet proof. Also, a big shout out to the team at e-trailer! I would definitely purchase these Ride-Rite’s again if I ever needed to and would only order them from e-trailer!
I’m extremely satisfied with these Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs for my 2023 Chevy Silverado High Country. They definitely level the truck when towing my 5th wheel camper. installation was a little tight, but easier than I initially thought.
For anyone taking on installing these for yourself, I suggest doing it on a hard flat surface, use a creeper (you’ll be side to side, under and out from under the truck a good number of times), ratchet box end wrenches, crescent wrench, a headband light, and a little patience. Some of the nuts you couldn’t get a socket on them.
I couldn’t find a good location to utilize the included air fill bracket so I improvised and installed the air fill valves in the rear bed access steps as indicated in the pictures. I ran the tubing from this point, between the chassis and under bed channels and terminated straight down to the air bags. About a two hour install. I did watch a video of an actual install through etrailer before starting my installation. One minor adjustment was needed on the bottom bracket clamp due to shock bracket interference.
Thanks etrailer for providing quality items and great supporting videos.
Installation took about 2.5 hours with just me installing it. Install went smooth and all the parts and hardware were correct. Driver side took longer than the passenger side. Also located the air fill valves inside the gas fill lid for easy access. Have not put a load on the truck yet but should not be an issue. The last 2 photos is where I installed the air fill valves.
OK, so I love the way these work but I had issues with the printed instructions. They were not clear as to whether I needed to use the axle support bracket when I have the Jounce Supports. I installed the bags once with the axle brackets installed (and things just didn't fit well). I then looked up the online instructions which were different and clearer and indicated NOT to use the axle support brackets if you have Jounce Supports. So I had to remove and reinstall the airbags a 2nd time in order to get the bags to sit right and install tight to the Jounce Supports. I'd recommend having the Online instructions handy ILO the printed instructions that come with the kit.
Quality components. Everything fit perfectly. I also installed air scales. Pickup rides great with a constant ride height. I’m very pleased with the system!
What’s to say, other than a great product, does everything I want them to do. Would buy them again especially from etrailer. Everything was so easy and the shipping was within a week. Keep doing what your doing etrailer Thanks Doug
Product was great. I carry a lot of weight in my F-350 delivering to oil field locations and this installation makes it possible to keep my truck at the right ride height. The directions could be more explanatory but after a couple hurdles it installed perfectly.
Over the years I’ve ordered quite a bit from eTrailer.com and used them again for this upgrade. Their staff always makes sure to get you the correct answer for questions and are quick to follow up, Their prices are always very competitive too.
I knew what I need and ordered online, the well packed box arrived within a few days and was complete and undamaged.
My son and I installed this Firestone airbag kit late on a Saturday afternoon and took our time. The instructions were well laid out and clear. I didn’t watch any install videos. This was a very easy job if you don’t mind getting dirty. It is important to pay attention to the details highlighted in the instructions. It’s helpful to lay the parts out and practice assembly on a few items since you will be on your back and working where you can’t see what your hands are doing above the axle. Don’t get in a hurry.
I added an airline tee (not included ) to my install since I’m only hauling trailers and I’m not worried about adjusting the levels from side to side, this simplifies adjusting air pressure to just one valve. The parts all seem well made and heavy duty for the job. This is the same brand and model popular with hot shots and camper haulers.
Five stars across the board, I know you will all appreciate my low beams not blinding you when I am rolling down the highway.
Easy instalation and adjustments for different loads.
Installed on a 2015 F350 Super Duty with Reese universal bed rail kit previously mounted. Straight forward install with includeded instructions. No additional drill or modification except neeeding to reroute 1 wiring harness to maintain proper clearance around left bag. The left upper bracket shims didn't directly line up. There is a slight overhang of the bracket along the frame rail due to this, but enough surface area covered. Left side used (1) 1/2" and (1) 1/4" shims. Right side bracket used (2) 1/2" shims. Torque specs are labeled on top of air bag.
Everything went together fairly well once I realize not to raise the truck off the ground. When my fifth wheel was installed brackets were added to the frame so I work around those. However everything fits and is working well

Oh no! I asked the manufacturer if this is a common problem. They have responded that the brackets would not bend by putting air in the air spring. It would take more force to ben those brackets. Low air pressure under load can bend brackets over time because the air spring will continually pound on the bracket. There is not enough force to bend the air spring by inflating to 150 psi. How soon after you inflated the bags did the bracket bend?
