Hey everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer we install, test, and review a lot of different products. To help you as a customer, make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today we're gonna be working on our 2012 Ram 1500. We're gonna be taking a look at, and I'll be showing you how to install, the Bed Rug XLT truck bed liner. Adding a truck bed liner to the bed of your truck is gonna be an awesome upgrade.
Especially one like this that is carpeted. Now this is gonna help protect our bed. Whether we have a spray in liner or not. And in this case we do, but it's still gonna work the same way. This is gonna be really good for any items you'd like to keep back here.
This is actually my vehicle. I do have a tonneau cover, so I'd like to leave my fishing stuff back here and hunting gear. Really anything I don't want to get wet. And keep it from bouncing around on our hard truck bed. So our carpeting is gonna be a really soft material.
It's also gonna be non-slip. So whatever we throw back here we're not gonna have to worry about. Now it is gonna be three quarters of an inch thick. So it is gonna be really thick and super padded. Honestly, it's pretty comfortable.
So if you do want to camp in the bed of your truck, this is gonna be a great option. You just throw a blanket on top of this, and it's gonna be super comfortable. I've actually done that in my own truck 'cause I do have one of these. I really like it. It protects everything I put back here very nicely and it's just super comfortable. It is full length. It is gonna be custom fit to fit our six and a half foot bed. So you're not gonna have to worry about that either. It comes all the way to the tailgate and it protects our hinge here. So you're not gonna have to worry about anything actually making contact with the floor of your truck bed. Now we don't have the hook and loop installed today because this is a temporary install. But it is gonna come with hook and loop material. That way you can keep this securely fastened to your bed. Now, one thing I will say is in my personal truck, I do like to keep the tailgate portion not latched down 'cause sometimes it does get pinched in your latches. So whenever you do get that tonneau cover closed, it's gonna be a lot easier to get that tailgate closed if that bed rug isn't in the way. Now it does come down to personal preference. You can do that if you like, but I personally just kind of fold this in. Make sure that that's clear, and close my tailgate. Not only is that gonna add an extra layer of padding for my fishing rods, but it also doesn't get pinched. So you don't worry about damaging that bed rug. And as you can see, we are still gonna be able to close our tailgate with that bed rug on there. So if you do prefer that, you can definitely keep that as an option. Now, when it comes to cleaning your bed rug, that's gonna be super easy. You can vacuum it out if there's like wood chips or anything like that in there. But if you do want to get a deeper clean, you can pull it out and wash it like your carpet at home. You're not gonna hurt it or anything like that. It is pretty durable. So you can just throw that in there and not have to worry about it. All in all, this is a great truck bed mat. So it is gonna be an awesome upgrade. I use it every day. Don't even think twice about it. Now we can take a look at the installation together now. And to get this thing installed, you're just gonna take it out of the box. You can set it down on the ground with some weight if you'd like, to help it straighten out. But once you get that, simply just lift it up onto your truck bed, kind of work it into place. Once you get that rear section into place, we can move up front and get that situated. We'll just take that front portion kind of work it down into place. And if you are using the hook and loop, that's gonna make this process a lot smoother. And with our bed mat in place, we're now ready to load up our gear and hit the road. That's gonna do it for our look at and our easy installation of the Bed Rug XLT truck bed mat on our 2012 Ram 1500..

So far so good
Bed rug has worked out great! It has been perfect for the small things I carry (mostly tools and golf bag), and works perfect with the velcro cargo organizer I have in the bed of my truck. The bed rug prevents sliding/noise and damage to things I carry along with protecting the actual bed/spray-in liner. Great product!
This has been a great product. Tough enough to haul a bed of firewood. Then sweep and vacuum and looks good as new. Cushioning is comfortable and helps with cargo. Carpet is smooth enough to slide smooth sided cargo on.
Unlike everyone selling items they don't have in stock, Etrailer doesn't. And their communication is outstanding before, during and after the sale including a "follow your package" link.
