Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Gen Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for the GM Short Bed OEM Puck Systems. Has a 25,000 pound towing capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2016 to 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks with the six and a half foot short bed and the OEM prep package.

And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle, and it'll show this will work for your application. Now, this gooseneck hitch adapter installs very quickly and easily into your truck's OEM puck system, and it provides additional five inches of cab clearance without any added bulk. What I wanted to show you is, we'll rotate this and zoom in from the side, and you'll be able to see it will include this two and five 16ths diameter ball. And the five inch offset you're gaining from front to rear is from the center of this ball to the center of where your gooseneck connection is here. So just to show you what we're talking about, if we put a ruler on it, center to center, there's your five inches of clearance you're gaining.

Now, as we mentioned, this is for six and a half foot short bed trucks only. And what's nice is that five inch offset provides that additional clearance between your truck bed and your trailer, allows you to make sharper turns. It'll let you fully open your truck tailgate while hooked up, and it's a simple design, so it leaves extra room in your truck bed for other gear. To install this, it's a very quick and easy installation, lets you switch out your current ball mount in seconds. All you have to do is see the tabs here.

There's one on this end, and one on this end. And then this is what'll go into the gooseneck opening. So when you go to drop that into your system, what you'll want to do is first pop off this clip, and then you'll pull up on this tiki handle. It's spring loaded. And then just twist it a quarter of a turn.

That holds it in the open position, releases those ball bearings down there. Drop your tabs in, drop this into the opening. Once it's in there, rotate that handle and it locks into place, those balls pop out, and it's secure. And then, for extra security, you just put your clip right back on there, clip it into place, and that'll keep it in there. Now, one other thing I would recommend is these two tabs are what'll go into your front pucks while your two rear pucks will still be open. So what I would recommend to do is we sell these safety chain loops that'll drop into those open openings of the two other pucks. It's part number C60691. And those will allow you to install your safety chains from your gooseneck coupler to the truck bed, the connectors. I wanna pop up an insert just to show we're talking about. That's what the safety chain loops look like. There's quantity of two of them in that part number, and you can see how they'll drop into the two open pucks, and you can lock your safety chains to it. Now, these parts are powder coated steel. They do resist corrosion. They are made in the USA. Few specs, again, on this. Weight capacity, we mentioned, is 25,000 pounds.
