Bulldog Winch Synthetic Rope Shackle

This synthetic rope shackle works like a metal shackle or D-ring used for off-road winch recoveries. It creates a safe and strong attachment point on your truck, Jeep, ATV, or UTV where there is no dedicated anchor point. It can also be used to connect your rope hook to a tree saver strap, tow strap, or other type of strap when rigging.

It's made from HMPE fiber that is lightweight yet stronger than steel - the same material used on Bulldog Winch synthetic rope winches. It's lighter, more flexible, and easier to use than a steel shackle with a threaded pin. It also includes a protective cover to help prevent abrasion due to repetitive contact with sharp edges.

To use the shackle simply wrap it around your roll bar, axle, or other point of attachment to create an anchor, put the loop end over the knot end, and pull it tight. The greater the load put on the shackle the tighter it will cinch around the base of the knot. Then insert your hook into the loop.

Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Rope Shackle Review

Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at, and I'm going to show you how to use the Bulldog winch rope shackle. This is going to replace your standard metal shackles, so you don't have to worry about scratching your finish on your side-by-side or on anything that you might be using that you don't want to risk breaking that metal shackle . and it coming back and hitting you.Now the shackle we're using today is going to have the highest weight capacity out of all three of them. This one's going to have a little over 30,000 pounds of workload limit, which is a very, very high workload limit when it comes to these types of shackles. In addition to that workload limit, you're going to have just under 62,000 pounds of a break strength on this shackle .. so, you're going to be able to tow a lot with it before it's going to break. Now, along with this safety factor that comes with these rope shackles, my favorite thing about this is that we're not going to have to hook our metal hook onto the frame of our ranger here.

We're going to be able to just loop this shackle around it and we know that our finish on our bumper is safe.So all the sizes of the shackles are going to have their own bright color. They're going to come in a bright orange, which is the biggest size we have here. The middle size is going to be a bright red. And the small size is going to be a bright yellow. This is going to be a safety feature for others to be able to see that you have your shackle installed and that you're towing your vehicle, but it's also going to be a great way to keep track of it when towing something out of the woods. Now with our tow strap not installed, we'll go ahead and show you a little bit more about how it works.

So it's going to be a double rope . rolled over at the end . and with a big knot at the end. This is going to give you extra strength when pulling things out. In order to get it in place, what you're going to do is you're going to take the non-knot end and open it up and slide this through wherever you're going to attach it and then to lock it into place.

You put the knot through and cinch it down. And then when you're pulling, you want to pull like this . attachment point here and attachment point here to be able to pull so that knot doesn't come undone. So here's a prime example of when you would want to use this rope shackle rather than your standard steel shackles. I would be worried that this shackle might break and hauling one of these around in a side-by-side or in a vehicle, they have the tendency to bounce around and make a lot of noise .. whereas this rope shackle's not going to do that.

You can see that we have our rope shackle run through our tree saver, which we also have here at etrailer. And back to itself and over that knot . and then we just hooked our wench up to the end of the shackle.Well guys, with all that being said, that's going to do it for our look at the Bulldog winch rope shackles.(silence).

Seems simple enough. I wanted a way to hook my tow strap to my pickup tow hook loops without using a metal shackle and chewing them up.

Was a little leery of a rope shackle but after I received & tested out I know I made a good decision
