I did some mods to make the tow lights work for my special application. They were well made and are holding up good. Always a pleasure ordering from e-trailer.

2014 Thor ACE Motorhome

The jury is out on these lights. They seem quite bright and well made, but the first set, identical to this one, had a magnet let go on its first trip, the light fell off and eventually broke the wiring, shorting out my trailer light converter, all of which I discovered when I reached my destination and found a wire dragging behind the trailer and no light to be found. It was not comforting to know that I had been driving at night with no lights at all on the trailer.

Sorry to hear about that. The manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty on these lights so Customer Service will contact you and discuss how to go through with that.

  • Light Kit Recommendation for a 4 Bike Platform Rack
I have a solution that would be your easiest option but we don't carry bike rack lighting kits as in most cases bike racks do not block the taillights of a vehicle since they are usually set out wider than the bikes on the rack. The Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat Connectors - 20' Long Harness # PE26UR would be an option that would be pretty easy to make work.

  • How to Route Tow Bar Wiring to Rear of 2019 Kia Soul
When installing a wiring kit like the Roadmaster Diode Flexo-Coil # RM-15267 on your 2019 Kia Soul the best way to run the wires to the rear tail lights is to route them under the vehicle between the underbody covers, securing it at various locations with zip ties while being sure to avoid any moving parts or areas that emit a lot of heat. I have attached an install video for this particular kit on the 2015 Kia Soul that you can follow along with. If you'd rather not perform this kind...

  • What Pound Rating are the Magnets of the Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights
The Magnetic Tow Lights - Red LEDs - 4-Way Flat Connectors - 20' Long Harness # PE26UR have a 35-40 lb pull force rating. The kit weighs less than 3 lbs so the magnets are very strong in comparison to the weight.

  • Recommended Removable Flat Tow Light Kit For 2016 Jeep Wrangler Soft Top
I may have another option, but we do not carry the Custer Ez Mount EZT20B that use a mounting flap. We have had customers use the Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR on their Jeeps by attaching the magnet to the body right next to the tail light housings. I included a picture of the lights used this way on a Jeep Wrangler for you to take a look at. This would be a great removeable option for your 2016 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top as it would still allow you to easily remove the lights...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2017 Honda HR-V Behind Class C Motorhome
We can help you equip your 2017 Honda HRV for flat towing behind your motorhome, and there are a number of different parts you will need in order to do this. For base plates I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 kit # RM-521570-5 that you referenced. This bracket will accommodate any Roadmaster motorhome-mounted tow bar. I recommend their Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520. For safety cables use # RM-643. For a lighting kit I suggest an inexpensive magnetic light kit like # PE26UR or # TL21RK; these...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a 2013 Kia Optima on a Tow Dolly
I checked the online manual for your 2013 Kia Optima and didn't see anything about recreational dolly towing, only emergency dolly towing. While the manual didn't give any distance restrictions for dolly towing it is always best to confirm whether it is safe or not with a Kia dealer. If it is okay then you simply need a tow dolly and then some lights. Tow dollies tend to have lights on them but it helps to have some extra lights to make sure people around you can tell what you are doing. For...

  • Can a 2012 Honda CR-V with Automatic Transmission be Flat-Towed Behind a Motor Home
Both the front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2012 Honda CR-V with automatic transmission can be flat-towed behind a motor home. Honda cautions that before flat towing your CR-V transmission fluid level and condition be checked. If you will flat tow often or for long periods (8 hours or more at a time), then it is suggested to change your transmission fluid at shorter intervals than specified in the manual. It is also necessary to follow a pre-drive conditioning process...

A complete flat towing setup typically consists of base plates, a tow bar compatible with your base plates, safety cables, tow bar wiring, supplemental braking and a high/low adapter; it sounds like you already have a supplemental braking system but we can help you locate the other parts. It sounds like you have already been doing some troubleshooting which helps to narrow down the possibilities for us. What I recommend doing is testing both sets of lights with another vehicle. Even though it is unlikely that 2 sets of magnetic lights would be malfunctioning the exact same way at the same time, it is not impossible. You can verify that the lights are working properly by performing this test. If they need to be replaced, we have the Peterson Magnetic Tow Lights # PE26UR...

If you are able to flat tow your 1991 Dodge Dakota then I recommend using the following parts: Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - # 210-1 StowMaster Tow Bar - # RM-504 (fits 2-5/16" hitch ball - be sure to use a ball mount that allows the tow bar to sit level) Safety...

It also has a 4-Way flat trailer connector with extra blue wire for the electric brakes and not a 7-Way. Since your RV has a 7-Way, what I recommend is to change the connector on the tow dolly to a 7-Way, # PK12706, and then you can use the Hopkins mutli-tow adapter, # HM47570. This connector will allow you to plug in the 4-Way on...

Your best bet is to get something like the magnetic tow lights # PE26UR. These will connect to your 4 pole on your vehicle and will attach to your roof via magnets. This light kit won't interfere with your bike cover as the others may. Keeping the lights on your roof rather than your bike rack will be much more visible too.

Generally, you don't need additional lighting when using a tow dolly that already has lights. Some people like to add additional lights just to make it easier to see the vehicle that's on the dolly.
