Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Nissan Frontier, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system. This does consist of part numbers RRVA137B-2. These are the Vortex Aero crossbars, 54 inches long. These also come in silver as part number RRVA137S-2. We'll also be using part number RRRLKVA. These are the Rhino Rack 2500 series legs for the Vortex Aero crossbars.
And finally, part number DK108, and this is the fit kit for this particular vehicle.The Rhino Rack vortex arrow roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your truck while freeing up space inside your vehicle and, if your truck bed's full, taking some of that load, as well. This can be used with bike racks, cargo baskets, and some cargo boxes. The aerodynamic shape of the bars, coupled with the Vortex Aero strips up top, is going to help cut down wind, noise, and drag while you drive.Also, if we unlock the end cap here, this can be used with T-track accessories by removing the strips, inserting your accessories, cutting them to length, and then putting the end cap back into place. Unlike other roof rack systems, these do come with the lock cores already installed on them, so once you install these to your roof rack system, they are secure to your roof, as well.Both bars have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs.We have our front bars already installed, and how we determined where they we're going to be place ...
we had everything assembled, and then we measured from the center of the door jam to the center of the bar, and that's how we got this placement here. Once we have the rear bar fully assembled, we'll be measuring from center of this bar to the center of the rear bar for that placement.We have our 2500 series leg. We have the lockable end caps, and our fit kits consist of the clamp and the rubber foot for the leg. Our first step is we're going to take our leg, and we're going to install it onto our Vortex Aero crossbar. You're going to loosen it up to where this bracket here fits inside the slot on the bottom.
And pretty much, it's just going to slide into place.Now, normally, once you've purchased these bars, you'll get a strip that you'll measure to length, cut it, and that's what's going to serve as the spacer between the leg and this portion of the bar. But for demonstration purposes, we'll just be measuring it out today. You'll find this measurement in your instructions, and we'll take our included tightening tool and the screw in the center here. Okay. Good.
And then, next, we can take our end cap, push that into place, and take our plastic key here and secure it down.Next, we'll take our rubber foot here, and it just lines up with those portions, making sure that the arrow and the numbers are corresponding to where they're supposed to be. And these just push right into place. Next, we'll loosen our screw here in the center. Line up our clamp, and just loosely install this. And now, we can open up the rear doors of our Frontier and put our bar into place.We'll just set it into place for now. Then, we'll make sure it is sitting evenly on the truck on both sides, and then we'll get that measurement from center to center to make sure it's in the right spot. Put these into place. We'll pull down on our insulation here, and the clamps will actually sit in this lip right here. I'll push that back into place, and then, we can start tightening these down with our included tool. To tighten these down, we do have this tool with this curve to it. Once this straightens out, you'll know that it's tightened enough, so this prevents you from over or under-tightening your roof rack to your roof.All right. You can push that back in place. We'll repeat this on the other side. We'll line up these two tabs with the points here. Push in. Lock it into place. Now, we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. And there you have it for the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system on our 2018 Nissan Frontier.

Ive had these racks for a year and they've been really good. They fit my 2019 nissan frontier easily. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is when it rains really heavy, I get a slow, occasional drip where the mount sit under the door's weather seal.
I’ve had this rhino rack for over 3 years and it’s been excellent on long road trips to the ski slopes. A year after my purchase, I realized that I was missing the plastic coverings that attached to the end of the bars and called their customer service to resolve the missing pieces. I was impressed with their quick response and seamless delivery.
I got this along with the Rhino Rack 2500 series Roof Rack with the Euro Square Crossbars in a kit. They fit perfectly and were easy to install.
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
This has been a disaster, and terrible experience from the start. Original product Rhino roof rack ($188.00) misrepresented for sale, even called and was told all parts were included as "Open Box" item. Received item with missing parts and mismatched parts, then ET sent wrong parts (Legs) causing having to order these cross bars ($192.00) to fit parts sent (Legs). Now my $300.00 BougeRV ski rack - mounting base plates won't fit the crossbars. Still waiting for return label for original item so I can get my refund of $188.00. Three weeks later, still dealing with problem. I do appreciate Shawnee and EDW for their efforts in follow up service attempts.
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.

This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
High-quality, sturdy rails, but noisy. There was a pronounced and audible whistle driving with these racks at any common road or highway speed (with the rubber inserts installed across the top). I have since replaced these rails with the Rhino vortex aero style (change of vehicles and the HD bars did not fit the new car). Having used both types several times, I would recommend the aero style over the HD if you have the option.
Product installation instructions were fair, and that is the worst thing I have to say. I havent put anything on the rack yet as I just installed it, but I gave a good tug on the bars and they are SOLID. The product came in a reasonable amount of time, and the feedback for etrailer is that I got followup emails at each step of the process keeping me fully informed right up to the message asking for feedback.
Bottomline: etrailer is a great business to work with, and this product seems to be good too.
Tricky to rivet tracks onto car with a manual riveter but once done, a great solution for the car with ease of bar removal. My only regret was going with the square bars which result in notable increase in wind noise.
Thanks to Etrailer, I am ready to do some serious summer exploring with my 2013 Mazda 3! Rhino Racks, Malone top box, and Kuat bike rack!
I am normally a exclusive Amazon shopper, but etrailer gives equal or better service and has specialty items you just can't find anywhere else. The pricing is great also. This is my 4th order from them on this project and the response has been perfect and the shipping has been prompt. They even offered to take back an item that I did not need. I desperately wanted to mount my 19ft Kayak on my new RV and with some Rhino RT tracks, a Rhino Nautic kayak lifter, a few really heavy duty rivets, and some ingenuity, I was able to accomplish the task. I am replacing the current Nautic bars with the heavy duty bars. See the attached pictures.

Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.
Works great and is very solid. I used the rack and a couple of their kayak racks to carry two kayaks. They are very secure, no vibration and minimal noise even at 70mph.

Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
I was in a roof rack jam. There was a national shortage of the rack I needed for my car and our summer vacation was a week away. I went to etrailer.com when I couldnt find the roof rack anywhere else on the web. Another website actually suggested that they might have what I needed.

Overall great product. It does everything I hope it would do and more, minus a couple issues.
1: These leave a slight gap in the door seal allowing air to pass through on the occasional windy day. The noise from this can be a little bit abound.
2: The anti theft aspect of this product isn't great. I almost lost my racks to a thief, but they stripped the allen head due to not having the appropriate Allen key. They did manage to loosen the racks though. I got lucky.
For the money, these are great, but don't expect $1200 quality, or the quality of a professional installation bolted to the roof.
This rack worked out great... I installed in on a 2017 Ford F-150. We drove 6 hrs through wind and rain with a SUP and Tandem Kayak on top. It really took a beating in a storm the whole way. One bracket was a little loose and shifted because of the wind on the Kayak, but it held together. Super happy with Rhino rack!

This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
