Yakima JetStream Crossbars - 60" Long - Silver - Qty 2:Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today on our 2012 Ford Focus we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System, consisting in part numbers Y00426, and those are going to be the Yakima JetStream crossbars, part number Y00146, and those are going to be the BaseLine towers for the crossbars, and part numbers Y06135 and Y06105. Those are going to be the BaseClip Fit Kits for those towers. Now, we already have the front one installed. You can see it has a nice, aerodynamic shape which is going to cut down wind noise and drag. With the two bars together they have a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you want to double check with your manufacturer's manual to make sure that your vehicle can withstand that kind of weight. Let's go ahead and show you how the rear one installs. We already have it partially assembled on our table here, and we'll finish it up.
Now, before we actually install anything you want to make sure that your towers have the proper settings for the bars. This one is set up for the JetLine . JetLine JetStream bars, excuse me. We'll go ahead and and slide them. I'll just move this around so you can see it.
We're going to slide them into this channel here, like so. You may have to loosen it up just a little bit to make sure that it will go in. It comes with a tool to do so. Then, we'll measure out to make sure that it's in its proper place. Go ahead and put this bolt on the inside here.
Tighten it down. Tighten this down as well. All right, next step is we're going to take our padded foot here and we're going to connect it to this point here. Okay, now at this point you would take your rubber strip and you would cut it to length to put it in the center here, but for demonstration purposes we'll just leave that aside for now. Next I'm going to go ahead and open our rear doors and put our crossbar into place. Try to set them on as evenly as possible.
Then we'll take our measuring tape and measure out the crossbar spread from center to center. You can find this in your instructions, this measurement. It's looking pretty good there. Go to the other side and repeat this process. All right, I'm going to make sure that they're evenly on both sides there. Looks like I may have to move it over a little bit. Now we can insert our clamps. These come with the BaseClip Fit Kits. See that it has this hole or notch here at the top. We'll open up our door here on our tower and we'll lift up this portion. I'm going to have to come around here. This portion here on the inside. Slide in our clip until it catches. We'll do this on the other side as well. All right, now with those in place, now we can start to tighten them down. We can get them snug at first on both sides and then tighten them down evenly back and forth. Once these are completely tightened, you will hear a clicking sound coming from the tool. Now, some accessories you can put on these roof racks are going to be bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo bags, cargo boxes, as well as ski carriers, kayak carriers. There's the click I was talking about. Shut that down. There's a wide variety of things you can put up here. There we go. Shut that door there. Now, we can put on our end caps as well as the end caps to our towers. With these, I would like to point out that there is a point here where you can knock that plastic portion out and insert a lock core for additional security. Just pop that in like so. Then, finally, our end caps. We'll just slide it into place at the ends here. All right, and there you have it for the Yakima Roof Rack System on our 2012 Ford Focus.

Full-length aluminum bars maximize carrying capacity.Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.
Love my Yakima roof rack!! It exceeds my expectations.great product. Also thank etrailer for the tec support! great staff always there to help thanks again!!
Follow the instructions, and you can't go wrong on the self installation
Strong, Solid Bars, Super Light, and really easy to install!
Your notice of schemes was a lot better than the yakima site provided. They did not suggest the scheme you did.
But when the products arrived, the instructions were by yakima. Generally worked as instructed except the tower to tower transverse mounting dimensions needed to be tweaked for a perfect fit.
Really easy to install & work as specified. So happy with the customer support/service at etrailer.
Ackage came 2 days early the install was somewhat easy (did it by myself)
Did not get to mount anything to it but seems really sturdy. One thing I can say is mark out your mounting points with provided stickers then put up and make adjustments to the roof rack.
Solid build quality and easy installation on my '21 Mazda CX-5.
Happy with the purchase. Crossbars shipped and received quickly.
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
Well packaged and on time
Roof rack parts were ordered correctly and shipped quickly.
etrailer did an amazing job of having their collective together with regards to my latest order for a roof top rack. First of all, when you go to one these manufacturer websites, either thule, or Yakima, you realize just how complicated this task can be. etrailer does all of that for you. Package arrived earlier than expected and everything was correct the first time. I installed the product myself in under an hour. Done, Done, and Done.
thanks etrailer
Great product fast shipping
Great! Easy to install!
I have ordered several Yakima rack parts and a front hitch for my '13 Ram truck. The sales staff was very helpful in getting me the correct parts and with timely shipping. The items arrived as predicted and are correct. They fit as they should and install was straight forward. I recommend these products and the service was excellent.
Work exactly as they should and hold everything securely to my vehicle without interfering with the car’s normal operation. etrailer had best prices based on my research. These bars are much quieter than traditional round bars and worth the added expense.

Easy to install thanks to the etrailer video. I have used the rack system on many long distance trips including driving from South Carolina to Yellowstone.
One year later and everything works well. I had a problem early on where the rubber protection for one of the j clips from the base towers came off. Contacted etrailer and they sent me a whole new assembly direct from Yakima. Thanks for the prompt response and service!
Bought kayak racks. Took a while to put together, but they are very high quality. etrailer send a wrong part (digits on the part number were reversed), but it was very easy to get this corrected and I received the correct part in less than a week. I even spoke to someone on a Saturday afternoon about the mix up who was very pleasant! They have my vote.
I have truly enjoyed this system. It allows our family of five plus our dog to stretch out in the car while our gear is secured on the roof. It takes a bit to mount it but I want it secure and it does fine with a roof box at interstate speeds. I absolutely recommend this system.
Easy to install and sturdy. I carry a 9' pontoon boat on my camper shell using this rack at freeway speeds with no problems.
Nicole was beyond helpful!!!
We had to wait on stock a little longer than expected BUT etrailer kept me informed of the progress. Once I received the products installation was a breeze thanks to the instructional videos.
