Derale A11 Dual Powerpack

Note: This assembly is intended for primary cooling and should provide enough airflow to replace your vehicle's factory fan, but you will still need to determine the CFM requirements for your engine before making your purchase. Engines that have been modified or vehicles used for towing may require additional CFM. There is no limit to the number of fans you can install, as long as they fit appropriately and are mounted on the same side of your radiator so that they do not cancel each other out.

You can install the Dual Powerpack as a horsepower-boosting replacement for your belt-driven radiator cooling fan, or you can use it to upgrade or expand to your current electric fan system. The dual fan cools your engine by pulling 3,750 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air through your radiator at 0 static pressure. High-output, 225-watt motors and skewed fan blades do the job efficiently and quietly. The Powerpack keeps engine loads to a minimum by drawing power (37.4 amps) from the alternator - not the engine itself. The fans are neatly packaged in a slim, customizable aluminum shroud that offers multiple mounting locations and won't hog lots of space in your engine compartment.

Power Increase Compared with Belt-Driven Fans

Belt-driven radiator fans draw power from your vehicle's engine, which causes a mechanical load that robs the engine of valuable horsepower and torque. The Powerpack, on the other hand, gets its power from your vehicle's alternator, via your vehicle's 12-volt electrical system. The Powerpack's 37.4-amp draw is far less taxing to your engine than a belt-driven fan's mechanical load. So replacing your belt-driven fan with an electric fan system can increase available horsepower and torque - and even improve fuel economy.

Increased Cooling Efficiency

The Dual Powerpack pulls mass quantities of air through your radiator's fins using twin fans, each powered by a 225-watt motor. The patented, skewed fan blades are designed to move air with as little noise as possible. Each fan grill is actually a stator flow director that helps produce maximum velocity by aiming the outflow.

Temperature Control Options

You can control the Powerpack with an on/off switch or a thermostat. An on/off switch, such as the Derale lighted on/off switch for electric fans (D16740), lets you control the fan manually.

A thermostatic control, on the other hand, turns the fan on when the coolant temperature climbs past a certain level and turns it off when the temperature falls back to a certain point. The Powerpack works with Derale single-stage thermostat switches (sold separately) with preset temperatures or adjustable temperatures.

Rustproof Aluminum Shroud

The Powerpack's rustproof aluminum shroud can be painted, polished, anodized, or left with its natural finish for a custom look. The shroud also serves as a wind tunnel so that air exits the fan quickly. Built-in air pressure relief vents help keep the static pressure load in check.

Video Transcript for Review of Derale Radiator Fans - Electric Fans - D16833

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Derale 24-inch Dual High Output Electric Radiator Fan with the Aluminum Shroud. Now, this is a nice high output polar fan, which will help maintain optimal engine operating temperature. Now, a polar fan is installed on the engine side of the radiator, and it's designed to pull the air through the radiator. This will help restore horsepower and torque that is used up by a lot of the belt-driven fans. This does draw the power from the alternator, not the engine, with minimal indirect mechanical load. And this will efficiently move 3,750 cubic feet per minute of air at zero static pressure, and that's for both fans.Give you a closer look here.

We're going to take a look at this powered by these dual 12 volt, 225 watt motors that draw 18.7 amps each. This can be operated by using either an on and off switch or thermostatic fan controls. Both of those we do sell separately on our website. This will help move the air efficiently and quietly. Has the skewed blades, which have an angle to them here. The fan diameters, they're 11 inches in diameter.

And the maximum cubic feet per minute per fan is 1,875.This does resist moisture and dirt, because it's a waterproof IP68 rating that has dustproof motors. Does increase the airflow velocity. Has this nice vented shroud here. You just turn around, you can see the vents right here. This'll act as a wind tunnel.

The built-in vents relieve any excess air pressure. And this shroud can be painted, polished, or anodized. This is designed for top or side mounting. Now, it does come with everything shown here on the table. Includes all the brackets you need to mount it, all the hardware, nice set of installation instructions. This fan is made in the USA.Give you a few dimensions on this.

Overall dimension width-wise, it's going to be right at 24 inches wide. The height is going to be right at 17 inches tall. And the total depth on it is going to be measured from the very back here to where the fan sticks out. So you're looking at right at about four and a half inches deep. Now, the mounting dimensions, if you look on the very top, you have the mounting holes, they are elongated, and the same way on the side, they are elongated. So there's a range of mounting dimensions. For the width, anywhere at the widest point, 21 and three-quarter inches. Narrowest point is about 15 and three-quarter inches. Lengthwise, widest point is about 15 and a half inches, narrowest is about nine and a half inches. But that should do it for the review on this Derale 24-inch Dual High Output Electric Radiator Fan with the Aluminum Shroud.

  • Dual Fan Setup that Can Move 3,750 CFM that is 24 inch by 17 inch
We have a dual fan setup that is VERY close to what you are looking for but is 1 inch deeper than what you mentioned with the part # D16833. This is rated for 3,750 CFM, is 24 inches wide, 17 inches tall, and 4-1/2 inches deep. If the depth is an issue you could maybe look into relocating your radiator to accommodate it. Otherwise we aren't aware of anything similar that is 3-1/2 inches deep.
