The Flex-a-lite Flex-Wave electric fan features a sine-wave design that offers greater airflow and is more efficient and quieter than S-blade and straight-blade designs. The wave surface of the blades creates channels for air to move along.

Chris Duke: I'm Chris Duke, and I'm here today to talk about the new Flex-Wave Electric Engine-Cooling Fan from Flex-A-Lite. Now this isn't your traditional fan technology going on in here, nope. It's actually pretty cool what they've developed. Let me show you what I'm talking about. Like it says right on the product box, this fan gives you "up to 25% more airflow" than competing electric fans of the same size. How is this possible, though Check out these fan blades.
Have you ever seen anything like it They're half plain chips and half chips with ridges. This is by design for better aerodynamics, though. Their expert engineers developed a new patented fan blade design that moves more air without increasing the fans F draw, and it's slightly quieter than a traditional blade, too. Here's a closeup shot of the blade. The sine-wave shape of the blade improves airflow a few different ways.First, the leading edge resembles a serrated knife and, as such, cuts through the air quickly and starts channeling the air more efficiently over the blade, which produces more airflow while reducing energy losses.
To help reduce wind noise, the trailing edge of each blade has variations. Finally, the tip of each fan blade is shaped like a winglet, which helps keep air from moving off the end of the blade and also increases the amount of air that the fan moves. This is some really cool tech that I haven't seen anywhere else. There are currently five different models of the Flex-Wave available in 12, 14, and 16 inch diameters. They range in cfm from 1,325 to 3,000 with an amp draw ranging from 8 to 18 and a half amps.
Some are reversible, like the one I have with me right here, while the ultra thin LoBoy models are dedicated pushers or pullers. Flex-A-Lite is truly unique in the market with the Flex-Wave.They are the performance cooling leader, and they continue to lead by taking steps, like the engineering behind the Flex-Wave, looking at the blade design for more airflow. While everyone else has straight blades or S-blades and focuses on bigger or brush less motors, Flex-A-Lite is innovating with true blade design. How did they get there Well, they use CFD tools, allowing them to consider 100s of designs and 1,000s of variations. They also had inspiration from other industries, such as aerospace.
Today's vehicles make more power than ever, and there's less room under the hood. Flex-A-Lite's goal is to provide more air flow without increasing the overall size of the fan, which means you get better cooling in tight spaces. For more than 50 years, Flex-A-Lite has led the way with performance cooling products, and now the Flex-Wave gives you yet another way to cool your vehicle.

The fan seems abit overkill for my application , better too much than too little .37 gmc p/u sbc 2x4 crossram very little room from water pump to radiator .
My health has prevented me from installing yet!

Along with the thermostat module, these parts will soon be installed in a 72 C10 Drag truck with a BB427Ci Chevy engine, so Ill have to get back to you on those!
I recently purchased this fan for my 57 Chevy restomod to be used as a pusher auxiliary fan.
Haven't installed yet but getting info, ordering and receiving was excellent. I'll send another review after I get it hooked up and running.
Do you have a question about this Radiator Fan?

Glad it worked for your application, but we dont have fit guides for engines but rather vehicles.
