Today we're going to review part number CAM44293. This is the Camco Cam Lock. Comes with the straight or offset cams and the two tubular keys and it fits onto a application that is about 5/8 inch thick. Just want to give you a measurement here to show you the thickness of it is about 5/8 of an inch. This will keep your drawer, cabinet, RV storage compartment secure using this key-operated cam lock. Basically, it's ideal for new or replacement installations, comes with the offset cam, and the straight cam and the two tubular keys. You can see the tubular keys fit right into the lock, just like that.
With it mounted like that you can see it just pretty much takes a quarter of a turn. Quarter of a turn to open or close it and basically, the way you would install this has a nut and a washer on it, a large nut and washer that you can completely take off. Slide that into the hole and then put your nut and washer back on to secure it into the cabinet, or whatever you're putting it onto. Then once you get it tightened down and into place, then you can take the nut off the very end and then with that nut off you take the straight cam and put it in. Has flat sides on both sides of the screw there so you just line the cam up with the flat side so you can put it on that way, you can put it on that way if you need to. If you switch it to the other side it would do it just like that.
Then if you need offset, you can basically take this one, as you can see you can put it on that way to gain some offset or to put it the other way, whichever way you need it. And same way you can flip it to the other side. Once you get it in the position you want, then you just take your nut, go ahead and tighten that down. Then you can see with it like this, then when you turn it, with this secured, and you hold this, you can see that it'll operate a quarter of a turn that way, just like that. So there's multiple combinations you can use the cams in there to get you into what situation you would need. That should do it for review on part number CAM44293.

Great customer service! Thank you. I used the CAM44293 to create a keyed latch on a previously spring-hinged plastic cover on a motorcycle fairing glove box. The spring hinge failed, so the door would be blown open by wind at speed. The original motorcycle part was too expensive to replace, so the barrel cam lock provided a fixed closure at a fraction of the cost once custom applied to the cover. That it included both one straight and one offset cam gave me the flexibility and confidence to be able to adapt it to my custom application.
Exactly what I needed. I'll be ordering two more for our other storage doors.
Only slight negative is shipping time was a bit longer than I wanted. But, to be honest, that's probably just because I'm "Amazon Prime" conditioned.
The lock was exactly what I needed to complete my trailer lid. It fit perfectly and was easy to install.
Great RV cargo door replacements. The 5/8 in or 7/8 inch locks are available for different door/surround thicknesses. Easy install with a screwdriver and socket or wrench.
Very pleased with product. Wanted to make sure everyone else did not have access to my RV storage area. Once I found out all other RV owners have the same ole storage key as everyone else... Great replacement for the traditional compartment locks on RVs and a good price compared to other places. Key is not removable in the unlocked position though, which honestly isn't that big of a deal.
Fastening back nut was too loose! Kept stripping had to deforming nut make it hold. It worked but disappointed in the quality!!
Locks were described well. Looking forward to installing them in our new RV.

the first lock we took out of the box, the nut to tighten it into the hole would not, could not thread on and stay tight. So, we had to use two locks for something that should have only required one.
For the price they work good and I was able to replace my RV Baggage door locks with these
Had to modify the lock lever to work. One lock got stuck and it was difficult to get it to work. Not impressed with the quality.

Great replacement for old corroded cargo door locks. Two lock tabs included for thicker and slightly thinner door thickness.
It worked well for a few months, then the key wouldn't fit and open the door. I Googled what to do and had to file a tab off the key and rotate the lock to get it to work. Now one key works and one doesn't. Other than that, it was a good lock.
Nice product. Used this lock in the front basement door of 5th wheel to replace a keyed version. Only drawback is the key can not be removed when the lock is in the unlock position.
poor quality for a lock. The cams did not fit on the stem. The large nut does not tighten onto the body of the lock. The lock can not be installed
Delivered promptly. Seem to be of good quality. I bought two locks and conveniently both are keyed the same. This is nice for me in that I only have to carry one key for both locks, but I an a little concerned that everyone who has purchased these locks, now has access to my storage compartments.
My misunderstanding as to what dimension to order - should have ordered 1" locks instead of 7/8". Found the product description confusing. Called and questioned customer service, and still got it wrong. Will be returning tomorrow for exchange.
