Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Thetford Porta Potti 345 portable camping toilet. Now, this portable travel toilet is going to be great for camping, RVing, boating, and other outdoor activities. This is going to be great for campers or vans that don't have a bathroom. And this features, here at the bottom, a 3.2-gallon holding tank that will easily detach for easy dumping, and I will show that to you in just the next minute or so. Before we go any further, I would like to give you some overall dimensions just so you can be confident that this is going to fit your particular application.

So looking at the overall height first, let me give you that measurement. So it looks like we are sitting pretty close to 13 inches tall. And then looking at the depth, let me see if I can line that up there so you can see it. It looks like we are pretty close to 16 3/4 inches deep. And then looking at the width, looks like we're gonna be right about 15 inches wide.

And this is relatively lightweight for the size. When it's completely empty, it's a little over eight pounds, and this does have a weight capacity of 265 pounds. And this will hold enough water for about 33 flushes. Now, let me give you an overhead look here just so you can get another view of it here. So you have your lid, then you have your seat.

And, by the way, the lid and the seat can be easily removed for a deep clean. And then just to give you a view of the bowl here and what's going on inside here, this is going to be a very simple setup. You're just going to fill the tank here with water. That's going to be the clean water that you're gonna fill for flushing. And then you'll just replace the cap here and then you'll want to pressurize it by using the piston.

And then that piston pump is going to be what you are going to use to fill the bowl to prepare this for flushing. So when you are ready to rinse the waste down to the tank, you're just going to use this piston pump to fill that bowl up with however much water you're going to need. And then giving you another closeup view here, you're going to pull this handle out here in the front, and then that's going to open up the valve and let that waste then drain into the tank at the bottom. Now, it's gonna be really hard for you to see that valve here opening and closing when I operate that handle, but it's going to be a very simple operation. And then when you have everything flushed down and you've got the bowl rinsed, and cleaned, and everything is down here at the waste tank, you will then push this handle back in to keep leaks and odors from escaping. So really easy to use, very convenient. And I do wanna point out that this does have a tank level indicator to let you know when it's time to empty the holding tank. So that's a nice addition to this. Now, the tank is going to easily detach from the top of the toilet here. So let me go back to my wide view here and just kind of walk you through that. So right here, we have this lever. And so I'm going to pull that, and then that's going to allow me to easily remove the top here. (toilet clattering) And then this is what the tank is going to look like, as you can see. And we do have this nozzle here or spout that's going to rotate to allow for easy draining. So whatever position's gonna work best for you, I think the instructions generally indicate that this is going to be the best orientation to set our spout for draining this. And then there is a vent button here that's going to allow everything to flow a little bit smoother, more smoothly, rather. Of course, you will wanna remove this cap first. This cap is going to do a great job of preventing leaks from the spout. So, very easy to drain this tank. And then when you have this emptied, you'll just replace that cap tightly and move it back to that orientation. I failed to mention that we do have a handle here, so this is going to be very convenient to carry this either to a inside bathroom or to a dump area. And again, you're not gonna have to worry about this leaking. When you have the flush valve closed and you have the cap on, this is not going to leak. So you can be confident that this is going to keep everything in the tank until you're ready to drain it, and you'll remove the cap, and you will be good to go. So let me go ahead and replace this for you to show you how simple this is going to be. I wanted to point out that I'm really impressed with the build quality. It's very well-built, it feels very durable, very rugged. It doesn't feel flimsy or anything like that. So I really do appreciate the build quality. As you can see, this is gray and white in color, and it is a good idea to consider maybe some additives to keep the odors down in the holding tank. And we also have additives that you could put into the freshwater reservoir there to make the flushing, cleaning rather, easier for when you flush it.
