With enough time and effort, any security measure can be conquered. But because thieves like a quick grab, locks like this one can deter them - or at least slow them down.

Setting the Combination Code

Set combo to zero to open the first time

This padlock will come to you locked. To open the lock and set a new combination, rotate the number dials to 0-0-0-0.

Turn the screw on the back of the lock

Open the lock, then turn it over so the back is facing up. Using a flathead screwdriver, turn the screw 1/4" turn to the left. Now you can set the combination to one of your choice. Numbers may be repeated multiple times for up to 10,000 possible combinations. Once you have your code set, just turn the screw back to it's original position.

Video Transcript for Trimax Shielded Shackle Resettable Combination Padlock Review

There's a lot of ways you can lock up your stuff. Trimax Locks has a round combination lock. So what this is going to do, and it's any kind of latch like this, as long as it has a hole that is 3/8 inches in diameter, we go up here, we slide it forward to lock it up, and then we scramble a combination. I like this combination style because I lose things a lot. I don't wanna have to keep track of keys. And if you're owning a business, someone needs to get into the trailer, you have to meet up with them, give them your keys, and then whatever.

You can just text them the combination so they can go ahead and line up the numbers, slide it out like this, and they can access it without you having to be there. We're gonna have a stainless steel body, so it's gonna resist against rust and corrosion. And it is going to be something that bolt cutters are gonna be really hard to get to it. Just because we have a shielded piece right here, I don't really have any room. I'm gonna have to go through the thick part of the lock to get it.

The overall diameter of is gonna be two and a half inches. So let's go ahead and show you how to reset this. Right out of the box the combination's gonna be 0, 0, 0, 0. To switch that up, we'll line the zeros up. We're gonna open this up like this.

We turn over to the back, and this little thing right here, there's two dots. Whatever one that's pointing right now, point it to the other one. Flip it back over, and we will set our combination. I like to have two 48s on my lock just like that. We're gonna go and move that back.

And then it should close. If it closed we have successfully changed the combination, and we can do this as many times as we really want. If you're looking for a lock, I just highly suggest getting a combination lock. There's so many different benefits of it. The main thing with me is like if someone needs to get into my trailer for whatever reason, if I own a business or I don't, I don't have to give them the keys. I don't have to take care of the keys and not lose them 'cause I lose things all the time. I just need to text them the code. It just makes things a lot easier, and this style lock is very, very secure in my opinion. Hard to get bolt cutters to it. So I think this is gonna be one of the best ways to lock up your stuff the best way. And that's pretty much it for a look at the Trimax circular combination lock..
