These truck or trailer mud flaps are 5/16" thick and constructed of polymer, or hard plastic, which is more rigid than rubber and won't sail in the wind. The durable construction can withstand subfreezing temperatures, so these flaps won't get brittle when the rain turns to snow and ice. And despite being more stiff than rubber, these flaps still have enough give to bend rather than break if they hit something on the road.
The backside of each flap features grooves that disperse water and repel mud spray away from your tires. These vertical grooves direct the spray down towards the road to keep your undercarriage from getting covered in grime, which can cause corrosion.
If you're simply replacing your mud flaps and you already have mounting brackets in place, just line up the pre-drilled holes on these flaps with your mounting plate and reuse your existing hardware. If the holes don't quite line up, you can easily drill new ones.
If you're installing mud flaps for the first time, you'll need to purchase mounting plates (sold separately) and weld them onto your truck or trailer to create attachment points for the flaps. To ensure the most secure attachment, add on bolt hole reinforcement plates (337MFW2375) to keep the flaps from tearing away from the mounts.

Today we'll be taking a look at the Buyers Product mud flaps. These are going to be a spray reducing type, that just means that they have these channels in the flaps themselves. This is going to help to reduce any out spray and instead it's just going to channel it down and away from your vehicle and help to reduce that splatter overall. Also, it's going to protect us from any kind of dents or dings from road debris coming up and hitting our vehicle. These are a really nice, very thick polymer construction so pretty stiff. It doesn't have a lot of give but will do a great job of withstanding any impacts from gravel, bits of concrete, asphalt, those things that kind of break up on the road and then get kicked up under our car.Also, it does a good job again of channeling down any mud, salt spray, all that junk.
It's going to get channeled down onto our mud flap instead of onto our vehicle. On the other side it's just a plain smooth finish. We do get two flaps, so you'll have one for either side. They measure 30 inches long. The one I have here is closer to 30 1/2 inches long and then about 24 inches wide, although again this one that I have here is about 24 1/2 inches wide.
The distance between our mounting holes at the top will be about 7 inches center to center. We'll have four mounting holes. Those each are about 5/8 of an inch wide and about a 1/2 inch tall. Our flaps are about .. If I can get my tape measure to cooperate here.
They're about a 1/2 inch . Oh excuse me, they're about 3/8 of an inch thick so pretty thick.It will withstand freezing temperatures, impacts from the road, and all that other stuff. You see we'll have channel design there. Pretty nice thick grooves. These are made in the USA.
The one accessory I would suggest to get with these would be a mounting plate to go up at the top. That's going to give you something to sandwich your mud flap in between. You can have that plate on top and then mount it to a secure point on your frame or wherever you're going to be mounting it up and that just helps to keep those mounting holes from getting waddled out over time.That's going to do it for our look at the Buyers Products mud flaps.
