Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the TaylorMade chafe guards for your rope. This is going to be a easy way to protect those ropes from any kind of cuts or scratches and abrasions, or from getting sawed by moving against the rough side of a dock. Also helps to protect your boat surface, as well, from any kind of rough treatment. So, let's take a closer look at these guys. It's going to be two of these rubber sleeves that are going to go over the rope.
So it's going to be pretty easy to slide these on. You can either just slide it over the end of the rope, or you can kind of open it up and wrap it around. Has a split going all the way down, but a nice thick overlap. So, it should be able to hold onto the rope all the way around, no matter what.This is going to be a non-marring rubber, so we don't have to worry about it scuffing up the surface of our boats. And it also is abrasion resistant.
They have two cords at one end, so you can kind of tie these off or have them at the ready. Tie a knot on these and kind of hang them where you want them to be. As far as the size, each one of these guys measures about 14 inches long and they can work with three quarter inch diameter ropes. You do get both guards or two guards and they are made in the USA. Well, that's about all there is to it for our look at the chafe guards.

- How Can I Prevent my Docking Lines From Fraying so Quickly?This can be a very common problem especially in waters that have waves or a lot of traffic. While we do not yet carry the actual lines we do offer a great way to protect them. Using something like the Taylor Made Chafe Guards for 3/4" Diameter Dock Lines part # 36996014 or one of the other options I've linked below for you will keep the lines from fraying so quickly and help extend their life.
