Hello everybody, this Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this MORryde overhead MOLLE panel for the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited vehicles. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2008 to 2018 Jeep JK Unlimited models. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight and Load Carrying Equipment.
This is an overhead MOLLE panel that'll help maximize the storage space in your Jeep. And it's perfect for mounting the MOLLE pouches, the tools, the rotor packs, jacks, camping equipment, and more items. Just wanna zoom in, give you a close up. You can see it's designed to accept all those parts. Now, the support bar on this, which is this bar right here this'll clip to the panel and basically it holds it horizontally overhead, just like that, in the rear of your Jeep, out of the way.
And just to give you an idea of what we're talking about, I wanna pop up an insert so you can see that top picture shows it being held up just like that. And then it can rotate down, if you look at that bottom insert picture, it'll rotate down. When it is up in the up position, it does not interfere with your line of sight. And again, when it lowers down it'll provide easy access to your stowed gear that'll be on it. It is a rugged black powder coat finish on it.
It is a steel construction, does resist corrosion. It is a bolt on installation to your Jeep's roll bars with the included hardware that's all included. There's no drilling required to install this. This part is made in the USA. Few specs, again the application is a Jeep Wrangler JK unlimited.
Few dimensions on the panel itself is gonna be 40 1/8 inches long. Height of it is 11 1/2 inches tall. But again, this will be bolted to the top. You can just raise it up like that. And when it raises up the support bar will raise up and clip right into the two clips there and hold this overhead just like that. And when you're ready to release it, just lift up on this, rotate your support bar down, and then lower your panel. Simple as that. Conveniently stows up against the roof while driving and lowers when you need to access your gear.Poor instructions! Unusable at best. No instructions on use of spacers. Extremely poor fitting ubolts....I had to measure them to get them bent enough to insert in the holes. Provides very little usable space once in place. Will fit a couple firearms, which is NOT what I purchased this for. I purchased it for the Molle ability. This lack of space (not noted anywhere in the description) is about 5 inches. Pretty limited on what can be put up there. Nice finnish. Fix your instructions....this is a 1 hour job, not 3 with lousy instructions. I'll dump this on another overlanding buddy as soon as I can.
