The NOCO GB500 Boost Max jump starter provides commercial grade performance in a compact and portable design. Rated at 6,250 amps of starting power, it can easily jump start gas or diesel engines up to Class 8+/CE. This means it's great for trucks, semis, buses, construction equipment, and commercial vehicles with high-displacement engines. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 400 jump starts per charge. The GB500 removes the frustration of having to find or wait for someone to give you a jump. Just attach the clamps to the vehicle's battery terminals, turn the unit on, and start your engine. It's that simple.
User-Friendly Interface with LED Indicators
The GB500 was designed to provide a simple, user-friendly experience. Back-lit LED indicators let you verify that the unit is operating correctly, and they allow it to be easily operated at night. These indicators signal the unit's charge status and alert you to potential performance issues or errors. This allows you to identify if the unit is too hot or cold for operation or detect a reversed polarity connection to a battery.
The touch-button interface allows you to turn the unit on or off or activate the LED work light at the push of a button. The manual override feature can be selected to jump start a deeply discharged battery, below 2-volts. It is important to remember that when this mode is activated, the unit's safety features will be disabled.
An integrated digital voltmeter makes it easy to tell the current charge of your battery, up to 30-volts. This helps determine if the battery is fully discharged so you can accurately troubleshoot why a vehicle won't start. If the voltmeter displays 12.7-12.8V for 12V applications, or 25.4-25.6V for 24V applications, you know the battery's good. It also helps you tell if a battery's condition is below 2-volts and would require the manual override feature to be activated.
A heavy-duty dial on the front of the unit lets you select between 12V and 24V lead-acid battery systems. The tactile design ensures that you feel the switch lock into the selected mode. There is also a LED indicator for quick visual confirmation of the current setting. Tin-plated copper conductors allow the unit to quickly adjust the maximum current to match the selected battery type.
Heavy-Duty Boost Max Battery Clamps
The Boost Max battery clamps included with the GB500 are built to handle the toughest conditions. Unlike typical, plastic battery clamps, the Boost Max clamps are constructed entirely of metal, ensuring maximum conductivity. The clamps are covered with an over-molded plastic housing, which makes them easy to operate even with work gloves on. And the durable 2/0 AWG silicone cables remain flexible in cold weather so you won't struggle while positioning the clamps.
High-tension springs in the clamps let them tightly grip top and side post battery terminals, and prevent them from slipping during use. Multiple rows of teeth provide multiple points of contact between the clamps and the terminals, ensuring a strong connection.
The cables connect to the GB500 using cam-lock connectors that let you quickly attach or disconnect the battery clamps. To attach the cables, line up the raised section of the plugs to fit the cam-lock connector ports. Once connected, twist the cable to lock the cables in. This will prevent them from coming loose or accidentally disconnected during use.
High-Intensity LED Work Light with 6 Settings
From jumping a dead battery to changing a flat tire, the GB500 has you covered. The unit has integrated LEDs, with 3 brightness settings, which can be used as a work light in low-light conditions. It can also function as an emergency beacon. Just choose a flash pattern, SOS, blink, or strobe, and then set the unit behind your vehicle to increase visibility and safety.
Portable Charging Power for 12V and USB Devices
The GB500 also doubles as a portable power source. The included 12V plug lets you quickly connect to accessories and enjoy 12V power on the go. For road-side emergencies, you can easily attach a tire inflator to help get you back on the road. Or bring it camping and attach a fan, coffee maker, cooler, hair dryer, or power inverter for added comfort.
The unit also has 2 USB ports, which make it easy to charge 2 smartphones, tablets, cameras, wireless headphones, or other devices simultaneously. This is great when you're in an area where power may not be readily available, like a campsite.

You can easily charge the GB500 while on the go with the included 12V cable that plugs into a vehicle's aux port, or cigarette lighter socket. If your around the house or shop, the included 56-watt AC adapter allows you to plug the unit into any available wall outlet.
Rugged Weatherproof Design
The GB500 comes with rubber covers that seal the connection points to protect the unit from dirt, dust, and water. With the ports closed the unit has an IP65 rating, which means it can withstand multi-directional, low-pressure water jets and is completely sealed against solid particles like dust or sand.
The housing is made from tough lexan resin that protects the internal electronics against impacts. The unit can handle being dropped, kicked over, and just about anything else the work day brings with it.

Video Transcript for Choosing The Right Jump Starters or Jumper Cables
What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be taking a look at some options if your car battery goes dead and you need to jump it. We have on the table from regular jumper cables all the way down to jump boxes. We're gonna compare 'em and try and find the best one to work with your situation. Find out you have a dead battery is never convenient. That's why you wanna make sure you have the right cables for your vehicle and battery to get jump starting and get back on the road.
Now that's gonna change depending on what kind of vehicle you have, what kind of battery it has. Bigger vehicles need more power to get 'em jumped. Some batteries have top mounts and side mounts and you need different cables to go onto the side mounts that are gonna grip a little bit better than some of the ones that are easier to clip on the top. There's a lot of variance and we have a bunch of different cables out here to check that out. First up, we're gonna look at jumper cables.
Probably familiar with these. These are the standard of hook up one end to your battery, hook up the other end to somebody else's vehicle and that's what's gonna get your jump started and back up and running again. So with all of these you are gonna need it on your vehicle to use them. Let's check out the differences between 'em. Let's look at the Matco jumper cables first.
You have your standard cables both ends here. They have a good tension on 'em so I know that they're gonna get a good grip on the terminals when you go to connect 'em. Even have this extra piece on the outside that's gonna help you out when you go to connect to a side terminal that doesn't give you a whole lot to hook 'em up to. You still have that option so they stay in place. These are from Hopkins.
Now these are gonna be orange and black. What's nice about these is they have a ratcheting connection. So I'm gonna push the button to open up the jaws and you'll hear and see here that it ratchets. So if we we're to put it on a terminal, it stays in place. It doesn't uncollapse so you don't have to worry about accidentally knocking into it and it falling off the battery. It's gonna get a good hold on there and stay there. The last pair of jumper cables we're gonna look at are from Bulldog Winch. These are gonna have an angled design so you see how it's not just straight out there. That'll help you get in those hard to reach places. It's got good jaws on it too so those are gonna clamp on there and stay on the battery. I like that it has the plastic coating on the outside, so if you accidentally hit 'em together or touch something metal, you're not gonna get sparked on. It is protected along the sides. Now this is gonna be a heavier gauge between the jumper cables. So this one's gonna be the premium option that's meant for bigger trucks. The next two sets of booster cables we're gonna look at are more of a permanent install. So each one of these has a section that's gonna wire straight into your battery. You can run one end of the plug towards the front of your vehicle. That way when you go to jump equipment, you just plug it in hook it up to the equipment to get it jumped. Let's check 'em out. We're gonna start with the Buyers Booster Cables. This is the end that you're gonna run to the battery on your vehicle, so it's permanently binded to those terminals. So I can get that outta the way. And it brings us to the plug here. This is the plug that will be sitting outside the front of your vehicle so you can easily plug in your cables. You don't have to worry about hooking it directly to your battery. This will always be ready to use with a cap that you can cover it up so the dirt, dust, and debris don't get in the plug. Focusing on the clips themselves they have pretty good snap to 'em. They do have this exposed part here. I like that they're color coded pretty simple to use and hook up to your terminals and get your equipment fired up. Once again, the Bulldog is gonna be a more premium option. This is the side that's gonna connect to your battery. This is the plug that'll be outside your vehicle. It also has a cap. I like the plastic cap better than the rubber one. Just feel like it's gonna last longer and it fits all around there, protecting everything. Then you just plug it in match up the sides, push it together. I like that the plug works a little bit better on this one than the Buyers one as well. And then you have those premium clamps that are at an angle just like you had with the regular jumper cables. Next up is jump boxes. So this is where you're not gonna need another vehicle. Each one of these products, you're gonna be able to hook up to your battery, get your vehicle fired up, and get back on the road without any assistance from anybody else. So the Performance Tool Jump Starter is gonna be a more all around option. It's gonna be great for jumping your vehicle. You have the clips on the back. Remove those. Take a look at those first since that's what we had with all our cables. You got the positive and negative signs. There's not a lot of teeth to these to grip on there so I can see them coming off pretty easily. But if you just hook it up there and jump the car it shouldn't be going anywhere anyway. It has a place to manage those cords. You wrap around the sides. Now this also is gonna offer an air pump so you can air up your tires or your bike tires whatever you need to with this. Then on the front we're gonna have a light and also a meter. It tells you where the battery's at. There's the light. Also have USB port to charge your phone. So if your car's dead, your phone's about dead. You can still charge that while you're on the side of the road. You also have some 12 volt plugs here. So it really is an all around solution for power on the go. Our next two options are gonna be from NOCO. You got the NOCO Boost Plus and the NOCO Boost X. The Boost Plus is more for your cars or SUVs. It's gonna have about 20 jumps of a charge in here so it's gonna last a long time. I still suggest on both of these, checking 'em every month or every couple months to make sure the charge you want them to be ready to go when you need 'em. The cables aren't too long on here, but this easily sits in your engine bay. You don't have to worry about it falling over. It's got good clamps that have a good grip on them when you hook 'em up to the terminals. Even have a built in light here on there. So just in case you need a flashlight you still have that visibility when you need it. The Boost X is gonna be a bigger version better for bigger trucks. It has more power in it to get those jumps. It's been recommended. A lot of comments about it. It's better in the winter if you have to get a truck that's dead, fire it up in the winter. This is gonna be far better for that. It's got the same functions. You got the light on the front, emergency lights. You got the USB ports here on the back in and out. So it charges via USB but you can also use it as a power block to charge up your phone just in case your phone's dead. Just like a car. Overall, it's really up to you what kind of cables you wanna use with your vehicle and your battery's set up. Now there's individual videos for all of these so if you want to know anything more about them you can check out those videos. One of the battery clamps came apart within about 2 months (perhaps used twice). The springs in the clamps appear to be too strong for the copper clamps (the riveted ends came apart). Was too difficult to file a claim so I just purchased another set of cables. The unit seems to work well when I need it but the clamps definitely need some tweeking.

Thought I should have one as we travel a lot and tow a car trailer. A week after I got it a car battery died. Jump started instantly with the NOCO and twice more without recharging the NOCO before I got the car to the shop. Very solid wires and clamps, simple to use and recharges quickly.

Best booster I’ve ever owned
Bought this because friends have the smaller ones and they work great and I’m sick of carrying a big jump pack around. I’ve jumped diesel pickups along with farm equipment. So I put it to the test and tried it on an old
CAT D6 bad it worked plus only used two bars of power
Only complaint is how long it takes to charge

I have not had to use it very much, but when I have it has started my battery and other's that I have helped also. Lightweight and easy to use. Handy USB connection to charge, but I have had mine in the pickup for 6 months and it was still charged and still jumped a dead battery. I do not think you should leave it that long without charging, but I guess it shows how well this device works!

Have had my NOCO boost pro for a year now. Has not failed me yet. I've had to use it probably 6 times while at work and it has performed flawlessly. It holds a charge well and I store it in a case in my vehicle unless temps go below 20 and I bring it inside. I would highly recommend having one. Thanks etrailer!

Have not had the chance to use yet it does seem to have some quality about it i also purchased the GBCOO7 cable I have no issues with jump starter at this time but I don’t like the plug cover for the cable it doesn’t seem to stay in place

- Recommended Jump Starter Pack for Work-Site TrucksI recommend checking out the NOCO Boost Max Jump Starter # 329-GB500. This is a heavy duty jump starter that can accommodate up to Class 8+/CE gas and diesel engines, plus it has USB ports for phones and lights in case you don't discover the new guy's mistake until nightfall. Best thing is that this is only 12-1/4" long x 8-3/16" wide x 6-3/8" deep so it isn't the size of a cooler like what we see with other battery bank styles.
