How's it going, RV and camper enthusiasts Today, we're going to be taking a look at TempMinder's Weather Station. This nifty gadget is an all in one solution for your weather and time-telling needs when you're out away from the home. It is an integrated indoor-outdoor thermometer. It also offers weather forecasting based on the barometric pressure. Now, keep in mind, that's not intended to replace local news sources for weather forecasts, but it's going to give you a good idea of what to expect for the day, and it's also an alarm clock, regular clock, and a calendar, so you never lose track of time while you're out on your adventures.It's going to give you up to four temperature readings. You'll get one of the temperature on the inside, the base unit.

You also get a remote-mounted sensor that you can mount outside of your RV and that's going to help determine the outside temperature, so while you're inside, you can see what the mornings like before you head out. See if it's brisk, cool, ready for you to go out and sip your coffee by the fireplace, or maybe you want to hang out inside for a little longer. You can also pick up to two more of these from here at etrailer and place them elsewhere around the campsite. So if you've got maybe out in a tent, you can put one out in the tent and get the temperature out there and maybe place a third one just in the back of your RV. Keep tabs on temperature in a particular compartment where you've got some sensitive items.Now, as far as the wireless sensor goes, it does come with an option to mount it.

Using a screw, you can hang it somewhere. What I find is actually easier since you really don't want to put any holes in the outside of your RV is you can actually mount it in a compartment. I would just leave it in an open-air compartment that's generally not insulated. That's going to give you a good idea of the temperature outside. Another good place to hide it if you're not going anywhere for a while is just on top of your tire.

Just kind of keep it out of sight so people don't get the idea to walk off with something.But another really cool thing is that, on the unit itself, you can see here it actually also has a display, so you'll get an idea of the temperature outside, and inside you can change the channel so you can match it up with which one is which, and we have up to three channels. Like I said, there's three sensor options. So, right now we're on channel three so we would know inside to go look at our unit for channel three's temperature settings.A good example of a compartment you might want to put it in is your water compartment. If you want to make sure that things haven't frozen overnight, you can take your unit and just place it in there, get a good idea in the morning if you're going to be good to go, or if you need to thaw some things out before getting started. Or why not drop one in your fridge to make sure the milk doesn't spoil Likewise, you can put this wherever you want inside your RV.

It's great in the kitchen area or in your sleeping compartment. You can keep it as an alarm clock as well right next to your bed, and that way, when you roll over in the morning, you can just press the light button here. It's going to illuminate and let you know how to plan for your day.So, I've got my remote unit outside. You'll of course want to not forget it when you take us so remember if you've got it sitting on top of that tire, and outside, you can see it's 55 degrees right now. Inside, we have that door open. It's gotten a little chilly in here. It's 51 degrees, but we can turn the heater on and warm things up. No problem. Our indoor unit operates off of three AAA batteries, or you can plug it into the outlet if you've got your generator running, and the outdoor units operate off of two AA batteries so be sure to pick those up before you head out on your trip.Now, this unit does have a couple more bells and whistles over other ones you'll see at etrailer that I really like. One is the full-color screen. It just looks nice. It's pleasing to the eye. Another is that it connects to the atomic clock in Colorado so that it'll update your date and time automatically. You won't have to worry about that. You do have the option to set it manually if you want, but I just like that I don't have to really worry about it.
