Hi, I'm Matt with Etrailer. And today, we're talkin' about the Etrailer custom floor mats for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now, this is gonna be a great way to keep the inside of your vehicle a lot cleaner, whether you're workin' outside a whole lot and your boots are gettin' pretty muddy, or if you have kids too that are running around in the back because this is gonna be a set for your front and rear. So let's check it out. I'll show you guys how to install these. But before I do that, I'm gonna flip it around and you're gonna notice we have this type of texture in the back.

And that's basically gonna be inverted of what we have on the front side, and that's gonna give you a little bit more grip on the bottom of your vehicle just so it doesn't slide around as much. Another thing that's gonna help with that is gonna be these tabs right here. That's actually gonna grab on to the nibs at the bottom of your car. But let me show you what I'm talkin' about. Your first time installing this might be kinda weird.

I had to work with it a bit, I actually broke one of the nibs on my first attempt. And what you wanna do, we found through trial and error is just slide this into place first, which is the easy part because it's gonna pretty much match the contours of your vehicle. But what I found was I'll lift up, find that hole, and try to put this in at an angle to really grab around that hook, and apply pressure. You'll kind of hear it click into place, and you'll just repeat that for the other side too. (mat rustling) Give it a good pull, make sure everything's grabbing on.

We can kind of take a closer look at that coverage we're getting. So we're getting all the way up to near that door jam and it's really contouring to the shape of our car. So you're gettin' that full coverage even on the backside where this dead pedal is, and all the way underneath our regular pedals too. So you don't have to worry about this even interfering with your pedals, it won't block anything, and it's still gonna give you that full coverage. And at the very bottom, we're gonna get these grooves.

So when you do have any of that debris falling off your shoes, it's gonna catch in here and keep it away from your shoes from getting back on 'em. And it's gonna keep everything in here really nice, thanks to these high sidewalls we have on the side. This is pretty high up, it's almost the width of my whole hand, so you don't really have to worry about anything falling through that. Now, these are pretty new, straight outta the box. It might bend a little bit, you might get some gaps, but if ya have this in your car for a hot minute, it should start to learn the shape. Especially on hot days, it'll really start to mold to the shape of your car. And really, these grooves are gonna be really easy to clean out. If you have a vacuum, you can suck all of that out. And once you figure out the trick to really takin' these in and out of your vehicle, you could even wash 'em out, and they do wash up pretty easy. We're gonna move over to the rear side, and this is gonna be for your second row. They're gonna have a lot of the same features as our front row, and it's still gonna have that really good coverage that fits around the contours of your vehicle. We do have these seats all the way forward, so if it does seem like it's not getting all that coverage, typically your feet are really just gonna sit right here. And the sidewalls are gonna be a little bit lower, but that's just so it doesn't interfere with how these seats operate. But we're still gonna have those raised areas that are gonna capture any of that debris and keep it away from our feet. And we're gonna have this thermal plastic rubber. And what that does is it's gonna be one, really easy to clean, but two, it's gonna be very flexible, as you can see how easy it is to move right here. And there's a lotta benefits to that. One of those benefits is when you do have kids back here, a lot of time when they're comin' in, especially from that door, this entry point, their feet are gonna get caught up on here and probably rest on top of this. And over time, if this was a more stiff material, this would keep its shape and you would have this really awkward shaped mat. But now, since this is more of a softer, more flexible material, it's not gonna hold that shape and it should just fold right back into place. And this is all gonna be one piece, so there's some benefits and drawbacks to that. So we're gonna get coverage over the center console. And with that bein' one piece, you don't have to worry about any debris falling in through the cracks. A counterpoint to that though is if you have any spills or you need to take this out to clean it, that's gonna be pretty hard. Even though it is pretty flexible, tryin' to maneuver one whole piece as opposed to a couple smaller pieces is gonna be difficult. So what I'd recommend in that situation is to kinda just leave that mess in it for the time being until you get a chance to really clean it out a little bit in the inside, and then take it out for more of a deep clean. Goin' off about that flexibility, with it out, you can really see what I'm talkin' about. How much it's wantin' to bend and how easy it really is to maneuver if I really wanted to. And this is all one piece. And if it was just one piece, like for our fronts for instance, that's gonna be even easier to take in and out. Now, another option you would have is gonna be WeatherTech. And WeatherTech's floor mats are really nice, they got that really nice custom fit to 'em. The only drawback to those is they're gonna be a lot more rigid than this. And if you do need to take 'em out to clean 'em, that's something you might have to work around. But the counterpoint to that is it's gonna come down to what you like inside your vehicle. The WeatherTech floor mat's gonna be a little bit more refined, and a little bit more subtle with their design of that tread on the bottom. Now, these are gonna have more of that rugged tread on the bottom. So it's really gonna come down to the aesthetic that you like inside your vehicle because this is something you're gonna be living with and seein' every day. But if you like this design because one, it is very flexible, two, if you like that more rugged look, that's great too, and three, they are really easy to take in and out once you learn the trick to it. Then, I think this is gonna be one of the best options for ya, especially since this comes as one whole set.
