The single-piece, strong wraparound jaw completely surrounds your trailer's king pin for 360 degrees of contact. This wraparound jaw provides a more secure connection than standard 2-piece jaws that close in on the king pin from the sides. The increased jaw-to-king-pin contact on the UMS hitch offers tighter tolerances around the king pin, which minimizes both rattle and chucking, for a smooth, quiet ride.
A 3/4" thick solid steel locking bar spans the area in front of the jaw. This bar provides an added barrier of protection against accidental disconnection so you can have peace of mind that your trailer is secure. The locking bar is attached to the jaw and to the spring-loaded handle. The bar automatically locks when the jaw closes around your king pin
The double pivoting, cushioned head improves your towing experience dramatically by helping to reduce jarring and unwanted noise. Built-in pins allow the hitch head to pivot back and forth and side to side. And hookup is easy because the hitch head will automatically pivot to the proper angle when it comes into contact with your pin box.
Three polyurethane dampeners help to cushion the movement from the pivoting head and to reduce towing noise. Two of these dampeners are built into the head assembly to cushion the head's side-to-side pivoting. The third dampener cushions the back-and-forth motion and must be installed in the hitch prior to use. Installation of this third dampener is easy - simply press the dampener up into the pre-drilled hole underneath the hitch head.
This UMS Double Pivot hitch is specially designed to fit in the underbed rails of your Ford Super Duty factory fifth-wheel towing prep package. To assemble the hitch, all you have to do is bolt on the side plates and attach the head to the hitch base.
The side plates have 2 functions. They contain the feet that fit into your OEM tow package receivers, and they allow you to raise or lower the hitch head to better match your pin box height. After you choose your desired height setting, simply bolt the side plates to the hitch base with the included hardware. Then lower the hitch into the 4 puck receivers in your truck bed. Turn the handles to lock the feet into the pucks and secure the handles with the included safety pins. The hitch can be removed to give you full truck bed access. Simply remove the safety pins, turn the handles to unlock the feet, and lift the hitch out of the receivers.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Hijacker UMS double-pivot fifth-wheel hitch. This fifth-wheel hitch is going to mount in the bed of your 2011 and newer Ford trucks with the factory prep package so you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. This is gonna be very easy to get installed with that factory prep package. It is going to drop right into those four receiver pucks that are built into your factory underbed rail. So just remove the pin here.
You open these up and then set it down in those puck systems. And then by turning this, it is going to lock those in place so you have a nice firm connection to the rails underneath your bed. And you'll put that pin back in. Make sure that they're not able to wiggle their way out. So very easy to get this put in place.
And then that way you're taking full advantage of your underbed rails. You don't have to worry about rails up in your bed that can prevent you from having full bed access if you do want to remove the hitch to haul other things. So this is gonna be a really nice way of taking advantage of that system that you already have in your truck. This does have a sturdy steel construction, so it is going to give us a gross towing weight capacity of 31,000 pounds. Steel does have a powder coat finish on it to help resist rust and corrosion.
So it's gonna do a good job for us and last us a nice long time. Our jaw system here, it is going to be a wraparound single-piece jaw that provides a nice secure connection for our king pin. So if we open this up here, you can see how that jaw is going to wrap completely around our king pin. Very secure there with that 360-degree contact. So it is going to help to prevent rattling and give us more security than a slide bar jaw.
We also have this 3/4-inch-thick solid steel locking bar that's gonna reinforce that connection for our coupler trailer to automatically lock. It will automatically lock in place when the jaw closes. Very simple to operate that. We do have this spring-loaded handle here on the side that will allow us to open up those jaws, get them locked in place like so, so that we can then back up to our trailer, lining up our king pin into the opening there. And then as it makes contact, it's going to automatically close on its own. We'll then use the included pin and clip here that are tethered in place so we don't lose them. Just slide those in, and that's gonna make sure everything's locked in place when we're ready to disconnect. We'll kinda reverse that process, lock it out, and we'll put the pin back in place here, just so we don't have to worry about tripping that as we're backing up. It's going to ensure it stays open. And then we can very easily close it all back up when we're done towing or leave it open if we so choose. Make it one last step that we have to perform to get hooked up the next time. So very easy to use this handle here on the side. It doesn't come out very far, but it will be fairly easy to reach over your truck bed rails. This is going to have the double-pivot head, so it will pivot front and back and side to side. That's going to help ease your hook-up and to help prevent or limit your chunking. There are cushions, polyurethane dampeners. Don't know if you'll be able to see those. You can kinda see the blue right here through the center. Those are going to help dampen and reduce the noise, absorb your shock as your head is moving. And so it's going to be a little bit quieter for you. On the sides here, we do have our saddle bracket that will allow us to adjust our height settings from 16 inches to 19 inches. That's going to allow us to accommodate different setups, so you wanna make sure that you're getting that set to where it's gonna work best for you. They're just very simple. As you're putting this together, just determine which bolt holes to use, and that will allow you to accommodate those different, or to use those different height settings. This is made here in the U.S.A., so you can trust it is gonna be made to the quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S. And really if you have the Ford prep package already, this is gonna be a great system to take advantage of that, make it very easy for you to just pop this down in place, hook it up, and be ready to hook up to your trailer. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
