Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your trunk. You will have to remove the rear scuff panel and the felt lining to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery, which should be in your trunk on the passenger's side. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

Today we're going to review part number C56230. This is Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the Dodge Challenger starting in 2015. If I want a custom fit part what I would recommend is to go to our website, use our fit guide. Put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this part will work for your application. This will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.
It does connect quickly and easily. There's no cutting or splicing of wires. Basically, you use these plug in T-connectors. They would usually plug in behind your rear tail lights in your rear cargo area, and then you run this power lead to your battery to supply power to the converter. It does include this powered tail light converter, and this will connect directly to the battery, and it avoids overloading your vehicle's electrical system.
This converter is constructed using SMT technology, which is surface mount technology. It gives you consistent, reliable performance. It will maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat. It also insures superior operation in any rough road conditions. This part comes with everything shown here on the table. I'm going to show you how this all connects here in a minute.
It is made in the U.S.A. A few specs on this harness, the maximum amperage on the stop and turn light circuit is 3 amps per circuit. On the tail light circuit it's 6 amps. Again, it comes with a nice set of detailed instructions. Step-by-step instructions, how to install it, and even pictures of your connection points. Basically, what you would do is go to rear of your vehicle, and in your rear cargo area you'd go start on the passenger side and you'll find the T-connector that has the green wire in it, that's for the passenger side tail light.
You'll go over to the passenger side and unplug behind the tail lights, plug this in, and then plug the wiring harness into this. Then you also notice on this side they'll be a white wire. This white wire has an eyelet on it, that's for a good ground. You want to make sure you connect this to a good clean ground. If there is one there go ahead and connect it, if not they include a grounding screw that you can drill a hole and make your own ground. Then what you'll do is take this length of yellow wire with the T-connector on it. This is for the drivers' side. You'll run this length of wire over to the drivers' side behind the tail lights, and go ahead the same way, unplug it and plug this in line to the tail lights. With those all connected you'll have your remaining black wire. This is what needs to run to your battery. On the Dodge Challenger the battery will be in the trunk. This already has an inline fuse holder connected to it, so what you'll want to do is run this wire to your positive post of your battery. You'll connect this, this eyelet will connect to the positive post, and what you'll want to do is open up the fuse holder. They include this 10 amp fuse that you'll want to put into the fuse holder, and then go ahead and put the cover back onto it. Now when you do run all these wires, there you go, got your cover back on. When you do run all these wires if you have any of them that are hanging down they do include some cable ties to help take up any slack. Then what you'll do is this will run out the back and plug into your trailer, so this is all connected ready to go. Last thing you might want to do is take this double-face tape, attach it to the bottom of your converter. You don't want to have it flopping around, so you'll attach that and connect this, peel the tape off, connect it to a nice flat surface so it doesn't move around. Then your last thing is your dust connector, or your dust cap. You go to your 4-way, and when you're not plugged into your trailer what can do is go ahead and put your dust cap on there, and can leave that on if you'd like. When you're not plugged in put the cap over the terminals, and that helps protect them from any damage, or from the elements. After that's all connected you're all pretty much ready to go. This plugs into the trailer and will supply the signal lights on your trailer. That should do it for the review on part number C56230, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector.

I purchased this product because it was plug and play and priced accordingly. No cutting, splicing or special tools needed. Just 5 minutes and the instructions. I recommend this to everyone.
Absolutely love how easy the installation was
2019 Dodge Challenger:
You have to watch the video to find out what ends goes to the passenger and driver side tail lights, this was not in the instructions, and even then, the wire colors were different than in the video. Also, there is a lot of room to mount the electronic module on the passenger side of the trunk (by the battery) but the cables between the module and the driver side tail light were too short to do that, so it did not mount in the optimum location.
The car tail lights are still working fine, but have not tested on the trailer lights yet, I do though expect it will work.
Good instructions, plenty of length for connector to reach trailer wiring.
Product would have installed as is, but I like things with less clutter so the positive wire was cut and shortened. I soldered the wire and covered with heat shrink in the same place they had soldered and I replaced the terminal with a smaller size. It would have worked as is though.
The harness fit perfectly and I received it when expected.
My hitch on my 2019 hellcat and wireing harbess work great...i pull total 19oo lbs no problem
Easily install in the trunk of my hellcat and works great with my trailers
Great product very easy to install made a small hole in the trunk drain plug and ran the plug outside then repaired the hole with silicone
Perfect fit and connections. No surprise. The Curt packages sold through E-Trailer have always been spot-on.
Quick easy and excellent product.
Easy to install. Battery is in my trunk so no long wires to run.
Easy install
Fast shipping - very easy to install - great product
