Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Route the yellow wire under the fascia as described in the installation instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2002 to 2007 Saturn Vue vehicles, and on the custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this kit here will provide a nice 4-way flat trailer connector to the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This does connect very quickly and easily.
Basically, all you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the taillights, plug in these T-connectors, one on each side. The one with the yellow wire's for the driver's side, the one with the green wire's for the passenger's side. And the instructions will show you where your connection points are located. Now, this does include a taillight converter right here, this black box, and that's to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a powered module, it does connect directly to your battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system, and it is constructed using SMT technology, which is surface mount technology, gives you more consistent, reliable performance.
This does help maximize trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat that'll ensure superior operation in any rough road conditions. Does also come with this nice dust cover. Then what you're gonna do is put this onto your 4-way, and when you're not plugged into a trailer, that dust cover will go over the connectors there and protect that from any damage or from the elements. Few specs on this, the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is three amps per side, tail running lights is for five amps total. And again, it comes with everything shown here, I mentioned the instructions that will describe where you connect your T-connectors too, and everything else.
But basically, this end here is what'll run out the back to be plugged into your trailer, these here will be plugged into your connectors that are on your vehicle. They do give you a nice double-faced tape that you can put on here to keep your converter box from bouncing around, and they do give you some cable ties here to take up any slack in the wiring. Not sure yet....Funny you should ask because we're just getting ready 2 install it and the hitch 4 a trip 2 Idaho.
Now sure how it will work out but the Hitch looks well made so I'm going 2 give you 5?'s 4 now.
This product is awesome only took me thirty minutes to install and works perfectly. The fit is dead on and I see no wires other then the one I'm supposed to. Thank you for the great customer service. I will recommend y'all to friends and family.

This is a great product. I did have one issue. I installed the harness on a 2006 Saturn Vue. I used the included double sided tape pad to secure the electronic module to the metal body behind the plastic rear fender on the passenger side of the vehicle. I placed the wire (yes, single wire) that ran to the driver side of the vehicle in plastic flexible conduct and then tie-wrapped the conduct to the Draw-Tite trailer hitch to reach the other side of the vehicle. The single wire wasn't long enough to reach up to the rear light housing so I had to splice in a foot or two of additional wire but this is easy done.
Afterwards everything worked perfectly. I would indeed purchase this product again.

I do still like my choices and every chance I get I point folks toward etrailer
Everything looks good, not ready to install it yet, the pictures that came with the installation guide are too dark to make anything out, gonna have to find a better video somewhere if I can’t figure it out myself.
Works good. Routing the wiring was tedious with loosening panels and removing the inner fender for the control box mounting. A fish wire helps alot on both sides to get the wire up to the tail lights

Everything works great after a year. I could not be more satisfied!
Just like my etrailer hitch, the wiring harness was simple to install and works perfectly a year later. Would purchase again.

Still works perfectly a year later. Practically free compared to having a shop install. Install videos are excellent.
Kinda easy to install. There was some tight maneuvering to get the harness connected. Didnt run into any problems installing or with monthly use through 2019. WAY better and more cost effective than me making my own wiring harness!!

Going on 2 years of use. Really appreciate the connector cover on the end of the wiring harness. I loop it onto my reciever and it keep the wiring from dragging or falling out when not in use!! Still a GREAT product
Delivered quickly. Installation was simple. Only gave it a "good" rating because the yellow wires running from the passenger side to the driver side should be about a foot longer to allow for better routing away from the exhaust system.

This unit worked like a charm. I took some exception to the instructions on routing the wiring because on the Saturn Vue it is possible to keep all wires inside the vehicle and more protected if you are a bit clever with "fishing" the wire through the body channels. Thanks.
Installation was fairly easy. The included instructions helped but didn't mention how to get under the bumper facia to route the wires from one rear turn signal to the other. Youtube video to the rescue! After watching a related Youtube video it was clear how to route the wires. The plugs that go into the existing wiring are great! As they fit perfectly and snapped right into place. The wire lengths were correct as it easily made it from one side of the Vue to the other with enough slack that the wires weren't taut. Lost a star for the instructions needing better explination on routing wires under the bumper facia...maybe Curt could make a Youtube video of their own. I like the trailer wiring for the Saturn Vue 02-07 by Curt and would recommend it!
The wiring harness is the way to go! There is no piercing, cutting or compromising the vehicle wiring. Just plug and go. I have used these connectors on 2 cars and I will swear by them.
The wire harness made the installation easy. I used the instructions as a general guide but wanted to have the trailer connection plug permanently mounted on the outside of the vehicle near the hitch. You just need to be innovative but it is very doable.
Product is great. Installation instructions were horrible. After I figured out how to route the wires, they were exactly the right length. I ran the 4-way connector plug down through the wheel well area and underneath the bumper, and I ran the yellow wire between the two tail lights along the top of the bumper.
Installation went quickly and without any problems. All I had to do was remove both taillights, plug in 2 connectors, route some wires, and reinstall the lights. They worked perfectly without any fuss.
Installation of the wiring harness was more time consuming than I expected but the included directions made it possible for a not-too-handy 75 year old.
Worked great, came fast and looked sharp. No way my wiring would look this good

Worked out fine. Harness was well made with adequate wiring to install in the appropriate location.
Slam dunk fit and worked great; instructions were good; fishing wires through was anything but fun but we got er done!
The installation went smoothly and the length of the wires allowed routing similar to that of a professional install. The high level of professionalism, service and follow-up received is what most companies lack these days and it was very much appreciated.
Hardware and wiring kit fit perfect, easy to install. Instructions for everything weren't the best but good enough. Shipping speed was amazing, took 48 hours and it was at my house.
I haven't installed the product, but the customer support has been great. I believe, that if I do have problems with installation, I can talk to someone at etrailer.com to get help get the job done.
Had to drill a hole through the side panel because the wires are 2 inches too short. If you follow the instructional video it voids the warrent according to the tag. The black box has to stay in the interior. They shove it behind the panel. Anyways I got it. Wasn't fun though. Nice quality product. Just needed a little bit more length.
Product as described, easy install, solved my brake light problem on the trailer. Will buy from this company again.
I have yet to install said prouct but I am confident it will work perfectly. As always, etrailer is the place to go for competitive product prices, customer support and amazing professionalism across the board!
