Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the ProGrip Better Than Bungee Tie Downs. So these are better than bungees, they're going to have a little bit more strength than the bungees and a lot less give. So if you have a pickup truck with a bed liner especially, maybe you have like a gallon water jug in the back or even a cooler or something, you hit the brakes and it slides all the way up front. These are definitely going to get rid of that problem. So what we can do is actually utilize the tie downs on our bed of our truck.
We can just go ahead and hook these on.We can go around our jug a couple of times. We do have six foot of actual orange cable here, so we will be able to go all the way around and to each side of the bed the truck pretty easily. Whenever you buy some bungee cords, they're usually going to be a fixed length. Yes, they're going to be able to stretch but with this, there's not any stretching and also you get a lot more length with it. You can do a lot more so you don't have to go and buy multiple size bungees, which is always a plus for me.So we do have a little lever here, you just pull this down and that's going to allow us to kind of adjust all this like so.
You can go back in there, hook it onto the other side and then give it a good tug. And if we had a lot of water in here too, it would make it a little bit more secure, but if we slam on the brakes, it's going to stay where it's at. It does have a working load limit of about a hundred pounds. So as you can see, we can either wrap around and connect it back to here or since we have so much length, we can actually go all the way to the other side of our bed. This is a smaller bed, it's a little Ford Ranger, but even for your full size pickups, it's going to be able to span the width of your bed and also the length of it as well. Unless you have a larger long bed, we might not be able to achieve that, just because we only have about six feet of actual cable length, but we do have about two inches for each of these hooks as well.
And can we can even go all the way to the end of our bed here as well. This is something that a bungee won't be able to do. As you can see, I can hook this on over here, and if I had a longer one maybe, but you're still just going to be stretching it. It's definitely not going to be what I need for today. So this is also going to be really nice to have when you have a hitch mounted cargo carrier. We've got a bunch of stuff in the back and we want to tie it down or just at least secure it to the actual carrier.
If it's a lighter item, it'll work pretty good with it because it does have up to a hundred pounds of strength. So let's just say we have a cooler, throw that on there. And this is a true 24 x 60 carrier. It's a pretty standard size for these carriers, so let's see if we can get this thing tie down properly. I'm going to go through these loops. So we can go ahead and tie these down to the little grate flooring on our cargo carrier. We are going to go through or handles, kind of keep that string a little high. And then we can go ahead and strap this down, give it a good tug. So now, if we're driving around and we get a couple aggressive turns, it's not going to go anywhere. You don't have to worry about it rolling over, flipping over, losing all that ice and goodies that you have packed up in here. Everything's going to be nice and secure and not just bumping around when you're going down the road.So whether you are just trying to get all this contents in the back of your truck from sliding around when you're driving, securing down some of your luggage for the trip or maybe you have a kayak or canoe that you want to secure down, whether it's in the bed of your truck or even just some loosey goosey stuff in the back of your SUV or your van. Literally, these have so many applications, so go ahead and share it on our website so we know how you guys use them. So that's going to do it for a look at the ProGrip Better Than Ratchet Strap Tie Downs.
