What's up everybody. It's A-J with etailer.com. Today we are going to be checking out this four amp battery charger and maintainer from Duracell. This is going to be good for hooking up. If you have, let's say a lawnmower that sits over the winter. You want to keep that battery nice and maintained.
So that way, when you go to fire it up and when the spring comes around and you have to cut the grass, it will actually fire up. Or if you have a vehicle that has like a low battery that is constantly draining or you have issues with that battery, I mean, replace it yet. You can hook it up to there. Same thing. It'll bring that charge all the way back up and maintain that battery for you so it's good to fire up whenever you need it.
Let's check it out. Starting here at this end, we're going to plug it in. We had ran an extension cable. Over here, you can see it has power. It's got a nice big display on it, so you can see right now it's searching for a signal.
You don't have anything hooked up yet. So I might as well just go ahead and hook it up. Come over here to the battery, to the negative, and then the positive. Let's see what the readout says. Now it knows it's 12 volt and now it's monitoring the battery to see how much of a charge it actually has.
So we waited a little bit and it initially flashes all the way up there. Now you can see it's at 50%. So that's about where it's charging right now which jumps up to 75%. So I think it's still getting a read on the battery. It was about at 75% when we hooked it up the first time before we started rolling. So it was like it's going to be there for just a little bit before the batteries fully charged. So he had the two buttons here. This one will switch it from 12 volts to 6 volts, and that's if, you know, it automatically detects it when you hook it up to the battery. But, it did say in instructions, if your battery is super low and you hook this up, it might not know that it's a 12 volt because it's so low on power. It might automatically remain at six. So you can manually change that by holding this button. That'll switch it over to a six volt charging. You also have lithium ion down here And so when you go to hook it up with a lithium ion battery you'll want to make sure you select that too. You want to auto-detect that, so you'll have to push that before you hook that battery up. Along with the lithium ion, it works with lead acid batteries, AGM batteries, and gel. Now, some of the other versions had a light on there. That'd be green or red. This one still has that. It's just on the readout now. There's an error message right here that would pop up. If you looked it up to a battery that was damaged or some kind of situation where it wasn't gonna work, it won't feed back on you, it'll warn you that way you can take it off there and unplug it and figure out what the problem is. Now, it does come with two different types of connectors. We had the clamps on there that we're on the battery and that's more for if you're going to be jumping around with it and, you know, if you have a truck that long one was right next to it in the garage or snowmobile or something like that, they need to rotate it out on different vehicles. So that's a better route for that. Now, if you only have one vehicle that you're going to have it on mainly like let's say this truck and it doesn't have this attachment that has these ring terminals, you'll attach these to your battery on the vehicle side. So that'll be over here. And then this plug always stays up here on your vehicle. It can just store down here out of the way. It's got a dust cap on it, too. When you're not using it, you can put that on there and it protects from the elements. So it'll last. You won't have any problems with that. Then, all you have to do with this will always be connected to your battery. You can just come up here and plug this in when you want to charge the battery. And with that then plugged in, it's good to go. When you're not using it, you can just unplug it. That stays connected. So that'll always be in the truck and you can still use the clamps on something else. How long we've been able to permanently attach the wires for the vehicle you use it for the most. You can see there's four holes on each corner here and it comes with a screw. So if you want to permanently attach this to like a workbench that's where you're going to set the batteries and work most of the time, you can do that. It's made to be attached like that. That way, when the cables swing down or something like that it doesn't move and go around your table. All crazy. It can stay in one place and you just bring whatever battery you want it to it. It's also weather proof, so the elements get to it or it gets rained on or something, it's not going to be a problem. It can handle that just fine. You also have kind of a grip on the bottom. So if you set it on your bench you don't permanently attach it, it does have some kind of grip. So it's not super easy just to knock it over. It will grab onto whatever surface you put on there, slightly. The other thing is if you hook it up to like a damaged battery, it has the potential to fix that, too. It can detect that and work on that and repair one of those batteries that is damaged from the inside. Overall, I think it's a great thing to have, especially if you have multiple vehicles, maybe one sits over the winter, or for those lawnmowers that sit over the winter, especially when it gets harsh like that. That's not easy on those batteries. You can hook this up that way it's maintained and it'll fire up in spring when you're ready to use it. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and I hope this helped..

Uses automatic multi-stage charging to extend battery life.So far so good. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but it’s working well as a battery maintainer to keep my travel trailer deep cycle battery charged over the off-season.
It will work, a little expensive for what it is, will probably get a nicer one down the road that indicates which mode it's in.
It works great.
Great product
