Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this 112 Decibel Auxiliary Backup Alarm. Works with 12 volt or 24 volt systems. Now, this backup alarm will produce a low frequency tone to warn pedestrians and other drivers that your vehicle is backing up or it's in reverse. As I mentioned, it's compatible with 12 volt, 24 volt DC systems.
It is designed to mount to the surface of the vehicle. Now, the hardware to install it is not included. This does meet the SAE J994 Type A regulations. It is made in the USA. Want to give you some dimensions.
Overall width on this, it's going to be right at five inches. Overall height is three inches, and the depth of the unit is right at four inches deep. Now, the distance between the mounting holes, center to center on the back here, is right at four and one eighths inches.We've mentioned the tone decibel is 112 decibels. Now I am going to use some 12 volt power to just let you know how loud this is, but it's so loud that I'm only going to touch it so you can hear the sound and then I'm going to shut it off because it is .. 112 decibels is very, very loud.
What I'm going to do is go ahead and . It just has a positive and ground connection. Again, I'm going to go ahead and turn the power on. Again, just a warning, it is going to be very loud, but I will shut it off. That's how loud it is, very loud backup alarm.
