Infrared Thermometer Has Easy Operation

TireMinder Infrared Thermometer

This thermometer is great for checking your tires, engine, ventilation system, or transmission cooler after a long drive in your RV or vehicle. It has an infrared laser that lets you accurately aim and measure the temperature of any surface. Simply pull the trigger button to turn it on, aim at a surface, hold the trigger down, and the temperature will display on the LCD screen. And if you want to measure other areas of the same surface, continue to hold the trigger down and slightly move the thermometer around. The temperature will fluctuate up and down, making it easy to find hot spots. Once you release the trigger, the screen remains on for 7 seconds before automatically shutting off which helps save the batteries.

Jeff: Hello everybody. My name is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this infrared thermometer by TireMinder. This TireMinder infrared thermometer will let you measure surface temperature without making contact. Has this nice, very easy to read LED display here. And the trigger right down here is used to turn on the unit, so when you do push that or hold that trigger, if you keep holding the trigger, it will keep the temperature reading showing on the display.

You can see it's showing right now. And then once the trigger is released, the temperature will be held on the display for seven seconds. You can hear the beep that I released it. And then you'll see in a couple of seconds, the display will go off. So it has an automatic off.

So to hold the display reading, you just keep holding the trigger. So again, if we pull on the trigger, there's your reading. It does have a selectable on and off laser, which is this button right here. If you push it, you can see the red laser dot right there. And that laser is used only for aiming. You just aim it at the spot you want to get the temperature on.

And you can turn that on and off also. Does have an on and off backlight. So the other button right over here, if you push it, it'll turn on a backlight. What I'm going to do is turn the overhead lights off. You can see.

And then if you turn the back light off, but if you're in the dark, you can push it and it'll come right back on.Now, it does measure a temperature range of negative 58 degrees Fahrenheit to 716 degrees Fahrenheit with a one and a half percent accuracy. The distance, the spot size ratio is 12 to one and the red button right down here, this will allow you, I got it set on Fahrenheit. If you push the red button, you can see it'll switch it to Celsius. So you can go from Celsius reading to a Fahrenheit reading. And then again, if you let it go, it'll go off automatically. Now, it does include the two replaceable AAA batteries and a nice set of operating instructions on how to operate it and all the features it has.But that should do it for the review on the infrared thermometer by TireMinder.

  • Damaged Caused to Travel Trailer Brake Drums and Bearings by High Temperatures
Normal operating temperatures for drum brakes range from 150-400 degrees F. During certain stopping conditions the brake heat can exceed 600 degrees. The effectiveness and stopping power of the brakes is significantly reduced at these higher temperatures and anything above 650 degrees may damage brake components if they stay that warm for an extended period of time. The bearings themselves can withstand considerable temperature without damage. However the bearing lubricant cannot. Temperatures...

  • Finding Transmission Return Line on 2001 Ford F250
This is pretty easy. The line to the cooler will be warmer than the return line. To determine which is which, start the engine when it's cold. Put your foot on the brake, and shift into D for about 10-15 seconds, keeping your foot on the brake. Put the transmission back in part and shut off the truck. Feel the transmission lines or use an IR thermometer like # TM48FR. The cooler of the two lines is the return line, which is the one you want to tap the cooler into. You'll also need the #...

  • How To Identify The Transmission Return Line on the 2005 Chrysler 300 2.7L For a Derale Cooler
I find the best way to verify what transmission cooler line is the return is by using a TireMinder Infrared Thermometer # TM48FR. This will ensure you find the correct line since both the inlet and outlet connections on your radiator are identical. You can use the thermometer to check the temperature of the lines after driving your 2005 Chrysler 300. The cooler temperature line will be your return line, which should be the bottom line. Then you will be able to install the Derale Series...
