Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this power built infrared thermometer with the LCD screen. Now, getting accurate temperature readings on your engine, exhaust systems, wheel bearings, brakes, and more is a lot safer and easier when you use this laser guided infrared thermometer. This thermometer will allow you to easily check the temperature of various parts of your vehicle's engine. It also works great on your RV or trailer for checking temperatures on your brakes and bearings.

It does have an infrared laser that provides an accurate aim and measures temperatures at a distance. Can be used within 12 feet of an object being measured. Basically, if you just squeeze the button or the trigger right down here on the front of the device, this will activate it and if you let the button go, it has a built in seven second auto power off function.After seven seconds of letting the button go, it will automatically power off, just like that. If you push the button, you can hold it on and that'll keep reading. The LCD screen is very clear and easy to read, does have a backlight button right here.

And if you push it, it'll actually light up the LCD screen. So, what I'm going to do here is I'm going to go ahead and turn off the. And you'll notice if I push the backlight button, you can see that it lights up the screen and you can see the readings in the dark. Push it again, it'll go off.Does have a laser on and off button. This button right over here.

So, if we hold this on, and you can see if I push that button, then you can see the red dot pointing right on my shirt here, that's the laser. And then, whatever you point that laser to, it'll give you the reading and it'll give it in either Fahrenheit like it's showing now, or if you push the red button it'll change it to Celsius. So, you can get whatever reading in what temperature you want. And then again, if I let it go, you'll notice after seven seconds it'll automatically go off. So, if you want to keep the LCD screen on, just keep holding the trigger right there.

Does require a nine volt battery, which is included. I've already installed it and it installs. Just pull that right down there. There's your nine volt battery that it comes with. Has a nice durable black and red plastic housing. The temperature measurement range is from -58 degrees to 716 degrees Fahrenheit. The distance ratio is eight to one and the margin of error on this is 2%. But that should do it for the review on this power built infrared thermometer with the LCD screen.
