Locating Transmission Return Line From Radiator on 2007 Pontiac Vibe

Question:

I have a 2007 Vibe and i see you advise the use of the Derale Series 8000 Class II Transmission Cooler, part # D13501. But my question is how do I know which line is the feed and return? It said the it should be installed so that the transmission fluid flows from the transmission to the OEM cooler to the aftermarket cooler back to the transmission.

The best way to determine which transmission line is the supply and which is the return line is to start the cold motor. Place the transmission in drive for 10 seconds, and return it to Park. Turn off the motor and feel both transmission lines where they exit the radiator. The cooler of the two lines will be your return line. As the diagram I provided shows, you are correct about the desired routing of the transmission fluid.

Or, you could do it the easy way and use a no-touch infrared Thermometer like # ALL648564.
