Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the replacement. Right-hand tailgate latch for your Stromberg Carlson 4,000 series fifth-wheel tailgate. This is going to be the exact same latch that originally came with your Stromberg Carlson 4,000 series fifth-wheel louvered tailgate. So you're not going to have to worry about making any sort of modifications or altering it at all.
It is a Stromberg Carlson product, so you can trust that it is going to integrate easily. It is going to fit all of the part numbers that you see on the screen there for your Chevy, Dodge, or GMC. So whichever model of the 4,000 series you have, as long as it's listed there, it will work for you.Just like your original. It's got the spring loaded catch, that we'll hold on to that pin on your truck so that your tailgate holds itself up. When you open it up, it's going to pull on that cable, release that so that you can lower your tailgate back down.
Very simple concept, but a lot of mechanics there, so it'd be hard to try and recreate this on your own. It's nice to know that they've got this replacement part so that you don't have to . you just simply get this and get your tailgate working again. This is the passenger side only, if you need the driver's side.
