How to Connect Fuse to ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat
Question:
The instructions for this water tank heater advise installing a fuse to protect against an electrical surge. Im not an electrician how do I wire a fuse into this connecting wire? Do I need some kind of connector to hold the fuse in place?

The ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat # 277-000164 has a 4.8 amp rating. If you can find a fuse rated for 5 amps that would be ideal but aside from that we have the fuse holder # SWC9538 which is compatible with 10 amp or 15 amp # C58450-1 fuses and you will simply splice one end of this holder to the power wire of the heater pad and then the other to your power source.
If you'd like the ability to control power to the heater pad then I also recommend installing a rocker switch like part # PK34310.
Attached are videos to give you some more details about all of these products and how exactly they will install.
