Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit RP56034 Review

Today we're going to look at the Reese quick install custom outboard brackets for fifth wheeled trailer hitches. This is a custom fit part. This is designed to fit the 2015 and newer Ford F150 trucks. On a custom fit part I always like to recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it will show you if this will work for your application. These installation brackets will mount beneath your truck bed and out side the trucks frame and it provides the attachment points for the fifth wheel rails. These are designed to work with the extended length base rails that will sit in your truck bed and allow installation of your fifth wheeled trailer hitch. Those extended length base rails we do sell separately on our website.

They are part number RP30153. This is a fast simple installation that has the outboard design. Basically what is, is these brackets which will sit below the bed and outside your trucks frame along with those extended rails result in a much simpler installation process. Because you're working outside the frame rails most of the under bed components can be easily avoided and you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work. It makes the whole process of installation a lot less of a pain.

These custom outboard brackets will mount to existing holes in your trailers frame. You can see the holes in them. They will minimize drilling and measuring. It cuts down the installation time by more than about half compared with the universal bracket systems. This kid does include both brackets. It includes all the grade 8 mounting hardware, a nice set of detailed instructions, and the finish on these is a sturdy black powder coat steel which will help resist corrosion.

That should do it for the review on the Reese quick install custom outboard brackets for fifth wheel trailer hitches.

Upgraded my truck to a 2019 F250 Superduty. Received my new rail kit and mounting brackets. Fits perfect!

by:

Installation was good and very happy. Thank you

by:

This did not fit my truck right. Front brackets fit fine. The rear brackets lined up with all the holes but the chassis strap brackets are wrong. The spacers are also too short. Contacted e trailer. They checked inventory said their boxes were all wrong also. They contacted the mfg and i waited a month only to get a box of bolts and spacers and no straps. Had to have some fabbed locally. This is for my 2024 silverado 2500 custom.

Instructions not clear enough/descriptive. Took 4 hours for my mechanic to install. would have been much simpler to loosen and lift box instead of taking everything apart as per instructions. Product seems good will know how it works after hitching up trailer.

by:

Five hours to install; which included a half hour searching for the key to the padlock on my spare. E-Trailer linked me to an installation video which really helped. I took my time and measured three times before I drilled the bed. Installation is a lot easier with someone to hold the bolts from the top. I fabricated mounting brackets on my last truck, but these were worth the money and I didn't have to drill the frame! Good design and straight-forward installation. My only issue was the video didn't show one bolt install that secured the driver's side rear bracket to the bottom of the frame. I was going off the video only and wasn't using the written instructions. Make sure you go step by step using both. Also, some parts are clearly for a different application so there will be a few parts left over. My experience with e-trailer was awesome.

Very happy how soon the product I ordered was at my door step. 3 days after I ordered it. Put the base to my 5th wheel on my 2017 250 diesel sd took me around 5 hrs, would have been faster with 2 people. The base fit my husky 16k prefect when I done torquing all the bolts. Going to use this hitch to pull my 29.5 Durango EZ 1500.

by:

The costom bracket kit is of heavy steel, powder coated for protection, from your video it is going to be a lot easier to install and save time, alot less drilling and mounting of components, I am very satisfied with this product and cannot wait to install it on my 2013 Ford f150,will be pulling a 25 foot 5th wheel camper, thanks trailer for a great product

by:

I did not use this item in my institution and was returned because I had the bed replaced with a flat bed and they used the factory placed holes in their insulation. Designed new attachment plates and had them fabricated in a local machine shop, attached using 3 half inch harder bolts each and all is working well.

by:

Very easy to install. Measure twice, drill once. I used every piece of galvanic corrosion tape to protect the aluminum bed in the kit, probably could have used a little more. Even though I painted the edge of the holes after drilling, maybe some sort of insulator could be used there also.

We ordered a bracket kit for our new 2017 F350. It was needed to install our Reese fifth wheel. which we use to pull our RV. Product was on back order by manufacturer, however Delisa at Etrailer diligently kept us very informed with updates & shipping status. My husband & son were able to install in a couple of hours. Looks great, outstanding craftsmanship & over exceeded our expectations! We would highly recommend!!!!!

by:

Still waiting for my package that was supposed to be here yesterday. It's been bouncing around 2 states clear on the other end of the country. I'll change my review if it ever shows up at my door.

by:

Fit good and easy to install

by:

They fit truck just like they were supposed too. Couple hr install with having to remove spare tire and heat shields to get access to bolt locations. Been supporting fifth wheel through thousands of miles. Thanks for helping me find right product for my truck!

by: 08/23/2023

The item looks great but the brackets are both for the passenger side of the truck. I called and etrailer is shipping out another set. My only real complaint is delayed shipping and I am now running behind on my install.

by:

Fits great and works well on my 2005 Sierra 1500 ( 5 1/2 )short bed.

by:

The kit arrived within a few days-very happy about that. very easy to install. the directions were clear and pictures good. I went to the trouble of using a sharpie to mark the part numbers on everything before I started just to keep to all straight.

I would note that on the 2017 F350 diesel the only problem bolt was on the driver side inline with the DEF tank. long skinny arms with flexible wrist is ideal (not what I have). I would also suggest taping the shims onto the outboard frame brackets to save yourself some frustrations. otherwise they are difficult to get and keep in place, especially on the driver side.

the two nuts that go inside the frame tube come on/with a nice handle although a bit light on the wield. here again save yourself and tape the shims on before you try to insert two things into that hole, align and fasten the bolt-by yourself. I used an extension with wobble head and socket to turn the bolt while holding the nut "assembly" in place.

I did remove the rear wheels and fender well liner-a must.

Lastly, great customer service on the phone. Pleasant and patient answering questions.

The product was fine but the service from the etrailer folks Is excellent. I had issues with my order (my fault) and they did everything they needed to do to get my issues resolved. Their service was very much appreciated!

Installing 2017 5th wheel brackets and rails . Thankyou for your service in sending me the right parts for my F250 . Took about 4 hrs to install and all holes were perfect in the side brackets . Just had to drill for the rail. I’d recommend your service...

Used it 3 times so far, does what it’s supposed to, the brackets fit the frame very good. Very happy with the setup.

  • Parts Needed to Use ISR Base Rails in a 2018 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2' Bed
The correct custom bracket set and hardware kit for your 2018 Ford F-150 will depend on if you have 43" long or 48" long base rails. If you have 43" long base rails these are what is referred to as inboard rails and you will need to use part # RP50087 for the brackets and part # RP58430 for the hardware. If you have 48" long base rails these are what is referred to as outboard rails and you will want to use part # RP56034 for the brackets and part # RP58504 for the hardware.

  • Which Brackets to Install 5th Wheel Rails In 2017 Ford F-150
I have a solution for you to use your existing rails, but the Husky Custom Mounting Bracket Kit # HT32221 is designed for a 2013-2020 Ram 3500 and cannot be used with a 2017 Ford F-150. However, you can use the Reese Universal Mounting Brackets for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 Bolt # RP58314 with your Husky rails since this is a universal mounting bracket kit; it will likely require drilling into the frame of the vehicle. With that said, the best solution would be to use the Reese Quick-Install...

  • Recommended Reese Outboard Brackets for 2020 Ford F-150
I have a solution for you, but the Reese # RP56016 are only confirmed to fit on the F-250. Instead, you'll want to use the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Brackets for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56034 which are a confirmed fit on the 2020 Ford F-150 with a 6-1/2 foot bed. These brackets are designed for outboard mounting 5th wheel rails only.

  • Custom Fit Frame Rail Brackets For Installing a 5TH Wheel Hitch On a 2021 Ford F-150
You will need either the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Brackets # RP56034 or the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit # C86WR. Both of these will allow you to bolt to the frame on your 2021 Ford F-150 with the 6-1/2' bed without drilling into the frame. Since the Reese Rails # RP30153 are the Industry Standard pattern the mounting bolt holes are the same for both bracket sets.

  • Correct Reese Custom 5th Wheel Above Bed Brackets for a 2021 Ford F-150
I checked with Reese and the correct Reese Quick-Install Custom Brackets for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for a 2021 Ford F-150 is part # RP56034. These brackets fit all models besides Raptor's or if there are ride height sensors. Please note, these are outboard brackets which means you need the longer 58" rails like part # RP30153 or you can just purchase the kit part # RP56034-53. These are the only Reese brackets available for this truck, they will fit all bed sizes.

  • Can Curt Rails Be Used with Reese Brackets or Reese Brackets with Curt Rails On a 2019 Ford F-150
In regards to fifth wheel base rails, the way the fifth wheel hitch attaches to them will be the same across brands but not the way they attach to the frame brackets therefore you cannot mix and match base rails and frame brackets. If you already have rails you'll need to use either Curt Brackets part # C86WR or Reese Brackets part # RP56034.
