Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And we're taking a quick look at the build in bracket for your Jeep. This is gonna allow you to have the trail kitchen from your ride mounted into the back of your Jeep. The nice thing about having the bracket to go with that is that you don't have to make any modifications to your Jeep. It's just gonna use the factory holes in your Jeep to allow you to build this in, and you're ready to go. So no drilling, no modifications required at all to do this.
You can, of course, go that route if you want to. But if you don't wanna have to make any changes, this is a nice way to go, pretty simple. Comes with all the hardware you need to get that installed. And it's just gonna be this bracket. It does kind of extend a little bit long.
The actual trail kitchen is just gonna sit over the top of this widest part. But since there are several holes in there, this is going to kinda spread that weight out over the frame of your vehicle. Help to make sure that it stays nice and sturdy, especially as that extends out. You're gonna be putting weight on it, probably pushing down on it as well if you're gonna be doing any chopping on the countertops and things like that. So you wanna make sure that it's super sturdy.
So this should be able to do that, no problem. As far as measurements, I'll give you a couple here. So overall, it's about 33 and a half inches long and then about 8 and 1/4 inch tall if we ignore this flat. But if we include that, it's about 9, I'd say 9 and 3/8 roughly, and then it's about an inch tall. But as I mentioned, whenever the trail kitchen is installed, it's gonna be sitting on top of this.
And then you're gonna have this kinda extra piece coming off of that. So as far as that length, you're looking at about 15 inches and then it's about an inch and a half. So that will be kinda sitting off to the side. And it will take up a little bit of the space in the back of your Jeep, kind of a bummer. But again, just to make sure that it's super sturdy and super stable, you kinda need that in there just to spread that weight out. It is made of sturdy steel. Comes with instructions on how to get this in place. It should be pretty simple to do. Eventually, we should have a video to walk you through that process as well. This is a custom fit option, and it works for the 2007 through 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So that's gonna be the Jeep Wrangler JK. If you have the JL, we do have a specific bracket set up for that as well, but it is a bit different. So you'll have to get that one if that's what you got. That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the build in bracket for your Jeep JK. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right piece for you. I used this with the my Dometic CFX 35 and it works great. The installation video was much needed, as the manufacturer provided guide is all wrong. The straps that come with the kitchen will work for any portable cooler that has handles.
My only question will be if this holds up to the many, many miles of rocky overlanding we do every weekend. I leaped for this alternative to Goose Gear’s custom kitchen that cost 3x and would get delivered after Labor Day. This one arrived 3 days after ordering. I’ve purchased many items from etrailer and they exceed all expectations in every encounter I have with their team.
Very robust and well designed bolt-in kit for my MORryde Trail Kitchen. The instructions were good and included photos of each step. I had to trim the white spacers by 1/4” to allow them to fit with my factory cargo area carpet still installed.

It works fine. But, Morryde has quality control problems. Of the various components I ordered for the trail kitchen, every single one sans the molle panel had an issue. On this one,the part that goes closest to the tailgate did not have the right size holes. I had to drill them out to make it fit. Also, there was an alignment problem with the bolt that goes into the passenger side. I had to go to the hardware store to get a button head bolt that did not require the tolerance needed. Otherwise no matter what I did the threads would cross.
I like the design and find it useful. Once again, there were quality issues with this unit. The first one I received had the slides that accept the extended table missing. Was not even mounted in there. Morryde sent me a replacement and I was eventually able to get everything installed an working
Fast forward several months and many miles on rocky roads and plain old pavement. I have had one rivet fall out. Was able to replace it with a bolt. I just now found that the driver side slide no longer locks when sliding all of the way out. Frustrating. I will see if I can fix it myself, but the pop-rivet assembly method does not make things simple. May see if Morryde will fix it under warranty.
