Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Hopkins Replacement Battery Box. Now, this is going to replace the battery box for your Hopkins Engager Breakaway Kit that you see on the screen there. Because this is a replacement from Hopkins, you can trust it is gonna fit right in place of that original battery box. It's gonna have the same footprint and everything, so it will mount right in place of your original to provide that housing for your breakaway battery.
Now, one major difference with this battery box and box that came with your breakaway kit is that the lid is a non-LED lid. But because the rest of it is exactly the same, if your original LED lid is still operational, you'll be able to switch it out, put that right in place here. If not, you'll just have a little bit less features on the box, so you won't be able to check your battery status and that sort of thing. But if you're needing to replace that battery box to help house your breakaway battery, and this is gonna be exactly what you need. That completes our look for today.

Replaces the battery box for your Hopkins Engager Breakaway kit (20099).
Keeps the plug dry and dirt free. Trailers are parked on a gravel driveway. With the use of dielectric grease for better contact, the plug parking cover prevents dust from building up or water entering the plug causing corrosion.
I received the shipment earlier than expected in great shape. The HM2010 replacement battery boxes (I bought 3) will be used to hold UB 1250 batteries for my game cams . I realize this is an unusual application but these are ideal boxes for this purpose as they can easily be mounted with the cameras with bungee cords (or screws for more permanent locations) and protect the batteries from the elements.
Great replacement for a broken box. Mine got stepped on and broke off at the bolt ears. The box will easily work with the LED front/door, as well, as long as you are replacing the same model box ... as I was. Simply snap the plain door off and snap the LED one on. Works great and is just like my original that came on my Leonard trailer.

Hopkins Factory Replacement for their Engager breakaway electric brakes system without built in battery charger, OR to replace a broken battery box on a system WITH charger by simply unsnapping the new lid and replace it with the old lid with charger. Saves quite a few bucks, and the typical failure point on these is the mounting feet eventually crack/break after lots of rough road hauling or stepping on the unit by accident. Simple installation.
Use this item IF you need only a battery box, and save some bucks. Hopkins does not, that I have found, offer just an empty battery box with no lid, but this unit is cheap enough to toss the unneeded plain lid and not lose any sleep.
NOTE: I cover mine with a cheapo plastic bucket held on with a small bungee to extend life of the unit by letting the sun's UV eat the bucket, not the Engager box.
I use the box to house a RV battery cut-off switch. Keeps the switch dry, can be locked as the top of the switch can be removed. I brought my RV in for some warranty work, and he was impressed with the use of the box to house the switch. Made for a clean install. Fantastic product.
The box worked perfectly for what I needed. With a tongue mounted toolbox, a top loading battery box for the breakaway kit is not feasible, and this worked perfectly.
This was great replaced the broken one with no problem. This was the first time that I ordered from etrailer and just like J.D. from BTBRV said that you are the best on getting parts replaced or buy. Thank you so much for all you do.
Very nice box to hold a standard battery. No instructions, but after looking at it for a while, you figure out the battery goes in on its' side, and the terminal lugs go on the side with the shorter reinforcing fins. Very sturdy box, and the lid closes securely.

Just what I needed.
Had to replace this after my original box broke. It lasted about two years then the plastic mounting tabs cracked and fell off.
The battery box is exactly what I expected. Delivery was fast!

The HM2010 battery boxes are working very well after one year in my game cam application and have served well in all weather conditions including snow burial during the winter months!!!
