The Flex-a-lite fan spacer provides the required spacing needed from the fan to the radiator. The large bearing surface and machined soft radius reduces point-loading which is the most common cause of stress cracking on the fan center star.

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Flex-a-lite spacer for belt-driven fans. This is going to have a 1/2" thickness and it's going to be just this spacer. So if you have a fan that needed a couple extra to go with your fan installation, this is going to be a great option. If you want the spacer with the hardware, you can also find that here at etrailer.com. That's going to be part number FLX 14544.
And that's going to be the same size spacer plus the bolts and washers necessary to get it installed. So sometimes in some applications you might need one to three spacers, so this would just be an additional spacer to go with that install. So as I mentioned before, it is 1/2" thick. So 1/2" there. Our pilot, so the center hole there is going to be 5/8 of an 1" in diameter.
And then the distance between our slots, is going to be at least 1-1/4" from here to there. It's about 1-1/4.It is made out of a durable aluminum construction, so we don't have to worry about any kind of rusting or corroding over time. It should last for a long time for us completely machined aluminum or milled aluminum and allows to give us that proper spacing for our belt-driven fan since we want to make sure that it's going to be just 3/4 to an 1" away from our radiator to get the optimal function, but sometimes you might have clearance issues, hence the spacers. That's going to do it for our look at the Flex-a-lite fan spacer for belt-driven fans.
